Friday,  29 January 2016

 RACE 1:  MAIDEN - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

BIG BANKER (App CK Ng) jumped awkwardly inwards hampering SOUTHERN ADMIRAL (M Zaki), which was slow to begin.

MAJOR GREEN (A Munro) jumped outwards at the start bumping TOOBIGTOFAIL (R Woodworth) out onto BIG BANG KING (App R Rueven).

PERKINS (M Rodd) and ARLO (M Nunes) bumped on jumping. This resulted in ARLO shifting inwards with VOLCANO (TH Koh) being crowded between ARLO and MARGAUX (E Aslam). Shortly after, ARLO and PERKINS again made contact with PERKINS then being buffeted between ARLO and BONJOUR BOB (I Saifudin), which had been carried inwards slightly by HIPPO VENTURA (App CC Wong).

Near the 1000m, BIG BANG KING laid inwards carrying HIPPO VENTURA onto the hindquarters of BONJOUR BOB. This resulted in BONJOUR BOB being turned outwards and further crowding HIPPO VENTURA, which lost ground. TOOBIGTOFAIL, which was following, had to be steadied in consequence.

SWINGLOWSWEETJACKY (J Powell) was held up and unable to improve between the 500m and the 300m.

VOLCANO was held up in the early part of the straight.

Passing the 200m, in order to obtain clear running, SWINGLOWSWEETJACKY had to be taken inwards across the heels of MAJOR GREEN, which laid inwards.

The Farrier reported that TOOBIGTOFAIL returned having cast its off-fore plate.

 RACE 2:  INITIATION - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

Acting on veterinary advice that MR JACKSON (M Rodd) was found to be lame near-fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1847Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

Trainer S Yeoh was fined a sum of S$50 in terms of MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the correct colours on FOREST KING (I Saifudin).

FULL BET (R Woodworth), which was restless in the barrier, jumped away extremely awkwardly and shifted outwards bumping PALTROW (E Chaves) out onto MAGNETISE (App Z Zuriman).

CHANGBAI MOUNTAIN (M Nunes) lost ground after jumping away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, FULL BET shifted inwards making contact with the hindquarters of SPEEDY MOMENT (I Azhar).

MAGNETISE raced wide throughout.

GOOD BET (App WT Chung) laid outwards making the turn into the straight carrying CHANGBAI MOUNTAIN wider on the track.

Shortly after making the turn into the straight, GOOD BET and CHANGBAI MOUNTAIN bumped.

CHANGBAI MOUNTAIN laid outwards over the final 100m.

App Chung, the rider of GOOD BET, reported that the gelding had returned with its saddle having shifted back during the race. This was subsequently confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on FULL BET which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 3:  KRANJI STAKES D, DIV 1 - 1600M (POLYTRACK)

DUAL IMPACT (I Azhar) was slow to begin.

DRAGON G (App T See) was slow into stride.

SPIRIT SEVEN (M Nunes) and FORTUNE SPIRIT (E Chaves) bumped on jumping.

KNOW EACH OTHER (B Vorster), which began awkwardly, was crowded shortly after the start, between ROSEGOLD (A Da Silva) and CHRISTMAS (App I Amirul), which was carried outwards by SUPER SPUR (App K Toh).

After passing the 1500m, CHRISTMAS and KNOW EACH OTHER raced tightly and bumped on a number of occasions.

Near the 1400m, KNOW EACH OTHER was crowded for room for a number of strides between ROSEGOLD, which shifted inwards slightly and CHRISTMAS, which was carried outwards by DRAGON G. As a result of the crowding, KNOW EACH OTHER had to be steadied.

Approaching the 800m, BLACK FRIDAY (K Fujii) was bumped by DUAL IMPACT, which shifted inwards.

ROSEGOLD was held up for clear running from the 500m until near the 400m.

Near the 50m, HEE’S A MAVERICK (App R Rueven) and BLACK FRIDAY bumped.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on KNOW EACH OTHER which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 4:  CLASS 5, DIV 1 - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

Trainer J O’Hara was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he did not declare his intention to race ALWAYS AHEAD (App J See) with Special Plates within the prescribed time at declarations.

STOCK BROKER (CW Brown), which jumped away awkwardly, was bumped outwards shortly after the start onto HEE’S EGO (M Nunes), resulting in STOCK BROKER making contact with EXCITING PROSPECT (M Rodd).

BLOOD ROYAL (App N Nurshahril) and ASTRO MAN (A Da Silva) bumped shortly after the start.

Near the 1000m, AMI ELEVEN (R Woodworth) checked when racing to the inside of GALLANT HEIGHTS (App M Jailani), ALWAYS AHEAD (App J See), HEE’S EGO and STOCK BROKER. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on FLYING WINNER (KB Soo) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 5:  CLASS 5, DIV 2 - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

GANNA (App K Toh) was crowded on jumping between OASIS SPUR (App J See), which jumped inwards and INFERMO (App T See), which jumped outwards at the start.

JACK OF HEARTS (K Fujii) jumped inwards at the start making contact with KTRONIC (TH Koh).

Shortly after the start, I-SCREAM NOW (App MM Firdaus) was inconvenienced when INFERMO shifted inwards.

Approaching the 800m, I-SCREAM NOW checked when racing between MATOAKA (A Munro) to its inside and INFERMO and BAIL OUT (E Aslam) to its outside. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Shortly after passing the 800m, GANNA shifted outwards making contact with KTRONIC.

TROPICAL FOREST (App N Nurshahril) raced wide throughout.

BAIL OUT shifted outwards under pressure over the final 100m.

Whilst Stewards were of the opinion that it had not affected the placings, App T See, the rider of INFERMO, was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on I-SCREAM NOW which revealed that the horse returned as a roarer. The Veterinary Surgeon also advised that I-SCREAM NOW had previously undergone corrective surgery for this condition.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on FAT FARRAND (M Zaki) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 6:  CLASS 3 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

After arriving at the barrier, ASSERTIVE LAD (App CS Chin) had its saddle readjusted.

HOT GOLD (K A’Isisuhairi), which was slow to begin, was bumped heavily by GOLDEN TOMAHAWK (CW Brown), which shifted inwards abruptly. When being bumped, HOT GOLD made contact with HIMALAYA DRAGON (M Zaki).

HIMALAYA DRAGON hung outwards from the 800m.

Approaching the 700m, NOVA STRIKE (M Nunes) eased when becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of THE GENERAL (B Vorster).

 RACE 7:  KRANJI STAKES D, DIV 2 - 1600M (POLYTRACK)

TONGARIRO (R Woodworth), which stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

DRAGON GOLD (App R Rueven) and MEAISIN (M Rodd) bumped on jumping.

Shortly after, MEAISIN shifted inwards making contact with PERFECT CHALLENGER (App J See).

Approaching the 400m, SPINNING SUCCESS (A Munro) eased to avoid the heels of PERFECT CHALLENGER, which shifted outwards abruptly when improving.

Jockey Munro reported that SPINNING SUCCESS was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. SPINNING SUCCESS will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LIM’S BATTLE (KB Soo) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 8:  CLASS 4 - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

Acting on veterinary advice that SUN MIRACLE (E Chaves) was found to be lame off-fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2147Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

After arriving at the barrier, WONDERFUL (M Nunes) had its saddle readjusted.

THE COSMOS (CW Brown) jumped inwards at the start crowding HELEN (App R Rueven) onto KENNEDY (App Z Zuriman).

RUN CHEETAH RUN (App J See), which jumped away awkwardly, made contact with WONDERFUL shortly after the start.

WONDERFUL raced keenly for a short distance passing the 900m.

Approaching the 400m, WONDERFUL steadied outwards across the heels of KAISER (App K Toh).

Whilst Stewards were of the opinion that it had not affected the placings, App T See, the rider of LIVELY DRAGON, was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SILVER POWER (App CC Wong) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 GENERAL

SINGAPORE DECEMBER MEETING 2015
FRIDAY, 4 DECEMBER 2015:

RACE 8 [TF1447]

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Thursday, 28 January 2016, App H Syafiq, the rider of BOGART, in the presence of his master’s B Trainer, James Peters, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding BOGART in Race 8 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 4 December 2015, near the 1000m, he made insufficient effort to straighten his mount, thereby crowding SPEEDY DRAGON (M Nunes) onto EURO ZONE (App R Rueven), FAITHFULLY (App J See) and SECRET MISSION (R Woodworth) with EURO ZONE and FAITHFULLY being buffeted and losing ground. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. App Syafiq was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect from Thursday, 28 January 2016 to Sunday, 31 January 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his right of appeal.

SUNDAY, 10 JANUARY 2016:

RACE 2 [TF60]

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Wednesday, 27 January 2016, Jockey E Aslam, the rider of BAIL OUT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding BAIL OUT in Race 2 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 10 January 2016, approaching the 1000m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, thereby resulting in THE WIND (R Woodworth) having to check. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Aslam that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 29 January 2016 and Sunday, 31 January 2016.  The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 1 February 2016 until Tuesday, 9 February 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days).  He was advised of his right of appeal.

RACE 2 [TF60]

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Thursday, 28 January 2016, Jockey S John, the rider of SECRET MAN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding SECRET MAN in Race 2 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 10 January 2016, approaching the 200m, he made insufficient effort to straighten his mount, resulting in it shifting inwards and BAIL OUT (E Aslam) having to check. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey John that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Sunday, 31 January 2016.  The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 1 February 2016 until Tuesday, 9 February 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days).  He was advised of his right of appeal.

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Wednesday, 27 January 2016, App R Firdhaus, the rider of LIM’S RALLY, in the presence of his master, Trainer S Burridge, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding LIM’S RALLY in Race 5 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 15 January 2016, approaching the 1300m, he made insufficient effort to straighten his mount, thereby resulting in WINNING CAUSE (B Vorster) and WELL DONE (M Nunes) being crowded and having to check. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from App Firdaus that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 29 January 2016, Sunday, 31 January 2016 and Friday, 5 February 2016. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Saturday, 6 February 2016 until Friday, 12 February 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days).  He was advised of his right of appeal.

RACE 5 [TF74]

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Wednesday, 27 January 2016, App R Firdhaus, the rider of LIM’S RALLY, in the presence of his master, Trainer S Burridge, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding LIM’S RALLY in Race 5 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 15 January 2016, near the 700m, he permitted his mount to shift inwards, thereby carrying BOGART (M Rodd) inwards, crowding CASING ROYAL (Jockey K A’Isisuhairi), which checked and lost ground. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. App Firdhaus was suspended from riding in races with effect from Saturday, 13 February 2016 to Friday, 19 February 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his right of appeal.

 This penalty will be served consecutively following the completion of his suspension for careless riding from Saturday, 6 February 2016 until Friday, 12 February 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days).

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Wednesday, 27 January 2016, App WS Chan, the rider of SPEEDY DRAGON, in the presence of his master’s B Trainer, Lawrence Khoo, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding SPEEDY DRAGON in Race 9 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 17 January 2016, near the 200m, he made insufficient effort to straighten his mount, thereby allowing it to shift outwards, whilst riding it along and shifting into the rightful running of CASTOR (App T See), resulting in it being bumped and carried outwards. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from App Chan that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 29 January 2016, Sunday, 31 January 2016 and Friday, 5 February 2016. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Saturday, 6 February 2016 until Friday, 12 February 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days).  He was advised of his right of appeal.
