26 MARCH 2008 MEETING
Wednesday,  26 March 2008

 RACE 1:  CLASS 5 - 1100M (SAND)

SAMURAI SOUL (S Sakai) and TRIPLE ACES (App M Zaki) bumped on jumping.

HAPPY FEELINGS (Din Azis) was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 2:  RESTRICTED MAIDEN - 1200M (SAND)

FAMOUS OVERNIGHT (R Woodworth) began awkwardly, lost ground and was bumped shortly after when JOHN OF ARCH (M Gallagher) was carried outwards by FUTURE DELIGHT (A Fiezan).

GOOD DAY (App M Razali) raced wide throughout.

FAMOUS OVERNIGHT was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 3:  NOVICE - 1200M (SAND)

RIO (Alan Ng) lost considerable ground after jumping away awkwardly. RIO must requalify in an Official Race Trial prior to being entered to race again.

CHESSMAN (N Callow) and PERFECT ALIGN (E Legrix) bumped on jumping.

Shortly after the start, CHESSMAN, which was inclined to lay outwards, carried PERFECT ALIGN out onto UP TO YOU (M Gallagher).

In the backstraight, RIO raced greenly, laid inwards and struck the running rails on a number of occasions.

 RACE 4:  CLASS 4 - 1900M (SAND)

Shortly after making the turn into the straight, HAN EFFECT (App M Ewe) was held up for a short distance. HAN EFFECT then shifted outwards and momentarily baulked EASY (J Saimee), which was racing to the inside of DINKICARDO (S John).

 RACE 5:  CLASS 4, DIV 1 - 1100M (SAND)

PRINCE GOLD (J Saimee), which was fractious in the barrier and became cast, was taken out and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Acting on veterinary advice, the Race Meeting Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2033Hrs. PRINCE GOLD will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being entered to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

LUCKY DOMINO (App M Ewe) was slow into stride.

SIGNATURE BEAUTY (D Beasley) jumped away awkwardly.

MAXIM GUN (V Sivan), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

 RACE 6:  KRANJI STAKES C - 1600M (SAND)

DEAR PRINCE (S Sakai) began awkwardly.

SKY RAJA (R Woodworth) and VALIANT MASTER (Din Azis) bumped on jumping.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SKY RAJA which revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. SKY RAJA will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

VICTORY CONQUEROR (M Gallagher) was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 7:  CLASS 4, DIV 2 - 1100M (SAND)

DOUBLE HAPPINESS (App HK Cheng) jumped away awkwardly.

MIGHTY RAJAH (V Sivan) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 200m, DOUBLE HAPPINESS was held up behind the tiring D’VINE (B Vorster).

Near the 100m, DOUBLE HAPPINESS then had to be steadied off the heels of FAST TUNE (Din Azis), which rolled inwards.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on D’VINE which revealed no apparent abnormality. D’VINE, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

SKY BOX (S John), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

 RACE 8:  KRANJI STAKES C - 1100M (SAND)

RAPIDFLARE (Din Azis) and WORLD SPRINTER (A Fiezan) bumped on jumping.

MAGICIAN (N Callow) was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

SUNDAY, 03 FEBRUARY 2008:

RACE 5

On Monday, 24 March 2008, the Stewards concluded the Inquiry into the handling of PARUA BAY in the fifth race at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 03 February 2008. Whilst Stewards did express concern with App S Cheam’s handling of PARUA BAY, after considering all the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the evidence was insufficient to proceed with a charge, although App Cheam was advised to ride her mounts so as to leave no room for query. Trainer C Leck was also advised that he must, at all times, issue his riders with adequate instructions.

SUNDAY, 16 MARCH 2008:

RACE 5

On Monday, 24 March 2008, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into a report from the Farrier regarding the racing plates presented on STORM CHASER (A Fiezan) at the Singapore Race Meeting on Sunday, 16 March 2008. Trainer L Treloar was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 35(1) in that he, as the Trainer and person responsible for STORM CHASER presented to race on Sunday, 16 March 2008 with plates which were excessively worn, thus not properly shod and complying with these Rules. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record. Trainer Treloar was fined a sum of S$2,000 and advised of his Right of Appeal.

FRIDAY, 21 MARCH 2008:

RACE 7

On Wednesday, 26 March 2008, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for IT’S TERRIFIC (App M Ewe) having to check near the 1000m when racing between TRICKY MASTER (A Fiezan) and PERFECT SKY (R Woodworth). It was established that near the 900m, TRICKY MASTER, which was overracing, shifted outwards and away from the heels of CHANCELLOR (D Beasley). At the same time, PERFECT SKY shifted inwards. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.
