Trainer J Meagher and Trainer Dr KC Yeoh were advised that a warning have been placed on LIM’S KNIGHT (D Beasley) and SIR NORTH (R Stewart) respectively regarding their barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

PERFECT PASSION (Din Azis) jumped awkwardly outwards, bumping PAYBACK TIME (KB Soo) out onto HAPPY FEET (App J Low).

Near the 800m, MR HAPPY (E Legrix) was crowded when MUSIC FIGHTER (App M Zaki) shifted inwards after being steadied off the heels of FANTASTIC TORCH (V Sivan), which was giving ground.

In the straight, PAYBACK TIME hung inwards and near the 50m, had to be taken inwards when unable to secure a clear run.

Over the final 300m, DARING DANE (M Hairin) laid inwards.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that the saddle on HAPPY FEET slipped forward during the running.

When questioned regarding the run of BIG CHOICE, Jockey Saimee, stated that as a result of being crowded on jumping, his mount settled further back than anticipated. SINGAPORE APRIL MEETING 2008
FRIDAY, 11 APRIL 2008:

RACE 1 [TF409]

On Tuesday, 15 April 2008, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons Jockey J Saimee was dislodged from STAR KAKA shortly after the start. It was established that shortly after the start, VICTORY FLAMES (A Fiezan) began awkwardly, shifted outwards and made contact with SKY REFLECT (R Fradd), which in turn was carried outwards onto STAR KAKA. At the same time, DRAGON STEED (M Kellady) made contact with STAR KAKA causing DRAGON STEED to become unbalanced and shift inwards resulting in STAR KAKA, clipping the heels of DRAGON STEED, blundering and dislodging its rider. In the circumstances, the Stewards could attribute no blame to any rider. However, all riders were reminded to exercise care when shifting ground in future.

RACE 1 [TF409]
On Tuesday, 15 April 2008, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for TITAN DELIGHT (B Vorster) having to check when racing behind SCENIC DELIGHT (D Beasley). It was established that near the 400m, TITAN DELIGHT was checked when crowded to the inside of SCENIC DELIGHT, which shifted inwards. LIANG KEE, which was following, checked in consequence. In taking no direct action the Stewards were unable to ascertain if a full run had presented itself to the inside of SCENIC DELIGHT but all riders were reminded to exercise care when shifting ground in future.

RACE 9 [TF417]
At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 15 April 2008, Jockey S John, the rider of THAT’S FAST, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(c) in that whilst riding THAT’S FAST in the ninth race at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 11 April 2008, after the 900m, he did permit his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear of PRIOR VISCOUNT (B Vorster), which was carried inwards across the running of FIELD QUEEN (D Chee), resulting in both horses being crowded and checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey John was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect from Tuesday, 15 April 2008 to Sunday, 20 April 2008 both dates inclusive (three Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
