 RACE 1:  CLASS 5 - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

KING OF KOON (App T See), which began very awkwardly, shifted inwards and bumped STREET RUFFIAN (App R Firdhaus).

PROBO CHANDROSO (CW Brown) was bumped by MR DE NIRO (M Nunes), which jumped awkwardly outwards.

Shortly after the start, EXCITING PROSPECT (E Chaves), FLYING MISSION (TH Koh), ELEGENT (S John) and BREAKING VAULTS (App Y Salim) were all tightened for room between DRAGON GOLD (App R Rueven), which shifted inwards and SUPER JOY (O Chavez), which shifted outwards and away from ZAC GALLANT (App CK Ng). As a result of this, FLYING MISSION, which blundered, and ELEGENT, both lost ground.

GADAWON (J Powell) proved difficult to settle in the early stages.

DRAGON GOLD and FLYING MISSION both raced wide throughout.

ZAC GALLANT was held up and unable to obtain clear running between the 400m and the 300m.

Jockey Nunes, the rider of MR DE NIRO, was fined a sum of S$500 under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip near the 100m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on DRAGON GOLD which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 2:  RESTRICTED MAIDEN - 1600M

Due to a delay resulting from the heavy downpour and lightning in the vicinity of the Race Course prior to Race 2, this race was put back thirty minutes and rescheduled to start at 1415Hrs.

The Stewards conducted an Inquiry into the start. It was established that the Mechanic in charge at the barriers, in the belief that the starting button was not reset correctly, attempted to reset it. This inadvertently activated the barriers opening. As the Starter had not effected the start and the Assistant Starter had not given the ‘All Clear’ behind the barrier, the Starter declared a false start and activated the false start system. As a result, WARSHIP (B Vorster), MAGSTOCK (M Rodd), SPIRIT SEEVEN (M Nunes) and SLAVONIC DANCE (A Da Silva) were all eased down. However, GURU-GURU (A Munro), MY TOUCH (TH Koh), SQUIRE BENTLEY (App MM Firdaus) and BORN A FIGHTER (CW Brown) all continued to complete the remainder of the course. After considering the matter, the Panel of Stewards acting under MRA Rule 114(4)(b) declared the race void.

 RACE 3:  CLASS 4, DIV 3 - 1200M

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 2, this race was put back thirty minutes and rescheduled to start at 1445Hrs.

KATAGAS (M Rodd), which was fractious and became cast in the barrier, was taken out and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Acting on veterinary advice, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1448Hrs. KATAGAS will be required to pass one starting stall test and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

ZIPPY GENERAL (Jockey K A’Isisuhairi) began awkwardly.

THE RAID (S John) raced wide throughout.

ZIPPY GENERAL was held up in the early stages of the straight before shifting outwards to obtain clear running near the 400m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on RISING EMPIRE (TH Koh) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 4:  INITIATION - 1400M

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 3, this race was put back thirty minutes and rescheduled to start at 1515Hrs.

BULLISH LUCK (App CC Wong) began awkwardly.

PARKER (App Z Zuriman) raced keenly in the early stages.

Near the 1000m, when the pace of the race steadied, LITTLE BIG MAN (M Nunes) had to be eased after improving onto the heels of CHEMALY (B Vorster). LAUGHING BUFFALO (A Munro) and NOVA GLORY (M Zaki), which were both following, had to be eased in consequence.

At the same time, NUMERO UNO (O Chavez) shifted outwards when being eased after improving onto the heels of ARHAT (A Da Silva). RAJA RANI (K Fujii) was carried wider on the track as a result.

NUMERO UNO, ARHAT and RAJA RANI all raced wide throughout.

CHEMALY mis-strode near the 700m.

LAUGHING BUFFALO was held up for room and unable to improve approaching and rounding the hometurn. LAUGHING BUFFALO then shifted outwards near the 400m to obtain clear running.

Leaving the 300m, LAUGHING BUFFALO, which was racing greenly, hung inwards, resulting in its rider having to stop riding the gelding and shift his mount outwards to avoid the heels of NUMERO UNO.

The Farrier reported that ARHAT returned having cast its off-hind plate.

Jockey Chavez reported that NUMERO UNO returned lame. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. NUMERO UNO will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 5:  CLASS 5, DIV 1 - 1600M(POLYTRACK)

Jockey E Aslam, the rider of STREET CHAMP, was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to claim and ride at his declared riding weight.

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 4, this race was put back thirty minutes and rescheduled to start at 1545Hrs.

After arriving at the barrier, RON (A Da Silva) had its saddle readjusted.

LUCKY EIGHTY EIGHT (B Vorster), which began awkwardly, had to be steadied shortly after the start when STREET CHAMP shifted outwards.

LUCKY EIGHTY EIGHT proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages.

RON raced wide in the early stages until assuming a position outside the leader near the 1000m.

WONDERFUL ERA (E Chaves) and STREET CHAMP both raced wide throughout.

WINNING STAR (A Munro) was held up and unable to obtain clear running in the early stages of the homestraight and then shifted outwards approaching the 300m, resulting in WONDERFUL ERA being carried wider on the track.

CLERMONT CLUB (M Nunes) was held up and unable to improve from the 500m until near the 250m.

CLERMONT CLUB laid outwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

PERFECTLY ECLIPSE (App MM Firdaus) laid inwards under pressure over the final 100m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on GALLANT HEIGHTS (App J See) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 6:  CLASS 4, DIV 1 - 1200M

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 5, this race was put back thirty minutes and rescheduled to start at 1620Hrs.

Shortly after the start, SECRET SPICE (App CK Ng) bumped GROENEWEGEN (M Rodd) out onto the hindquarters of QUEEN’S SEVEN (K Fujii). As a result, GROENEWEGEN was bumped inwards carrying SECRET SPICE in onto LIM’S GREETING (O Chavez), resulting in SECRET SPICE having to be checked. Shortly after, LIM’S GREETING also had to be checked when GROENEWEGEN continued to shift inwards and away from QUEEN’S SEVEN.

THE DODGER (App R Rueven) and QUEEN’S SEVEN both raced keenly in the middle stages.

EVERTRUST (App CC Wong) raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 400m, GROENEWEGEN was disappointed for a run between EVERTRUST and LIM’S GREETING, and was shifted outwards a short distance thereafter, to obtain clear running.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on QUEEN’S SEVEN which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 7:  CLASS 5, DIV 2 - 1600M (POLYTRACK)

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 6, this race was put back thirty minutes and rescheduled to start at 1650Hrs.

Prior to the start, LUCKY COME (App R Rueven) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race.

YUE YUAN (O Chavez) jumped away slightly awkwardly, resulting in it brushing the near-side of its barrier and its rider losing his near-side stirrup and becoming dislodged.

BANK ON ME (A Da Silva) was slow to begin after jumping away very awkwardly.

SHABBAT (M Nunes) was crowded on jumping between STANZOUT (A Munro) and LUCKY COME, which was carried inwards by WINNING SUCCESS (M Zaki).

WINNING SUCCESS raced wide in the early stages.

SHABBAT and LUCKY COME both raced wide throughout.

LEGACY (App Z Zuriman) laid outwards making the turn into the straight and brushed LUCKY COME. Shortly after, LUCKY COME shifted inwards and bumped LEGACY.

App J See reported that KTRONIC was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LUCKY COME which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

 RACE 8:  MAIDEN - 1400M

As there was no suitable non-claiming rider available, the Stewards gave permission for claiming Jockey M Zaki to replace Jockey N Juglall on CAPTAIN CLASSIQUE.

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 7, this race was put back thirty-five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1725Hrs.

Prior to the running of Race 8, the going was upgraded to good.

MING’S BOY (App Z Zuriman) was crowded on jumping between NATURAL WATER (App Y Salim) and MATOAKA (A Munro), which jumped awkwardly outwards. MATOAKA continued to shift outwards bumping NATURAL WATER.

SWAN SONG (M Nunes) and CHIPS (A Da Silva) were both slow to begin.

Near the 1200m, SPACE ODDITY (E Chaves) shifted inwards and bumped MATOAKA. SPACE ODDITY was again bumped near the 1000m.

Leaving the 1000m, MING’S BOY became unbalanced and shifted inwards after being bumped by SWAN SONG. This resulted in GOLD RESERVE (K Fujii) being carried inwards after being bumped by MING’S BOY. SING ENERGY (App MM Firdaus), which was following, had to be checked in consequence.

SWAN SONG, SING ENERGY and CHIPS all raced wide throughout.

Near the 450m, KIRKS RYKER (B Vorster) shifted outwards abruptly from behind the heels of PIONEER LIU (App CC Wong) to obtain clear running.

The Farrier reported that PIONEER LIU returned having cast its off-hind plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on CAPTAIN CLASSIQUE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MATAOKA which revealed no apparent abnormality. MATAOKA, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 9:  CLASS 3 - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

App MM Firdaus, the rider of BRAHMS AND LISZT, was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to claim and ride at his declared riding weight.

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 8, this race was put back thirty-five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1800Hrs.

Near the 800m, ROYAL FORTUNE (App Y Salim) had to be eased after improving onto the heels of BOARD WALK (B Vorster).

ASSERTIVE LAD (App Z Zuriman) and BRAHMS AND LISZT both raced wide throughout.

Near the 400m, BRAHMA CIRCUS (CW Brown) shifted outwards to obtain clear running, resulting in BRAHMS AND LISZT being carried outwards wider on the track.

Leaving the 400m, SPEEDY DRAGON (App WS Chan) laid outwards carrying CASTOR (App T See) wider on the track.

An Objection was lodged by Trainer J O’Hara, the Trainer of the second placegetter, CASTOR, against SPEEDY DRAGON, being declared the winner, on the grounds of interference in the straight. After deliberation and considering all of the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that near the 200m, SPEEDY DRAGON shifted outwards bumping CASTOR outwards, carrying that gelding wider on the track. SPEEDY DRAGON then continued to shift outwards, carrying CASTOR even wider on the track. Taking into account the alleged interference and the manner in which both horses finished off the race, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had affected the result of the race and the Objection was upheld. The result was amended to read:

1ST - CASTOR
2ND - SPEEDY DRAGON
3RD - BRAHMA CIRCUS
4TH - ROYAL FORTUNE
5TH - KEEN DRAGON
6TH - BRAHMS AND LISZT

An Inquiry into CASTOR being carried outwards on the track will be held at a date to be fixed.

App Y Salim will be questioned regarding the run of ROYAL FORTUNE.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on ROYAL FORTUNE which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

 RACE 10:  CLASS 4, DIV 2 - 1200M

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 9, this race was put back thirty minutes and rescheduled to start at 1830Hrs.

After arriving at the barrier, LIM’S SPRINT (CW Brown) had its saddle readjusted.

DUTY FIRST (J Powell) blundered on jumping.

SMART PEOPLE (O Chavez) jumped away awkwardly and shifted outwards, bumping DYLAN (App R Rueven) onto the hindquarters of LUCKY MISSION (R Woodworth).

Shortly after the start, TERMS OF REFERENCE (B Vorster) shifted outwards and away from DUTY FIRST, bumping LIM’S SPRINT out onto STICK SEEKER (App CC Wong). LIM’S SPRINT and TERMS OF REFERENCE then bumped on several occasions following this.

Near the 1000m, LIM’S SPRINT checked when racing between TERMS OF REFERENCE and DUTY FIRST to the inside and STICK SEEKER, BLOOD ROYAL (App N Nurshahril) and SMART PEOPLE to the outside. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Near the 900m, BLOOD ROYAL was bumped by STICK SEEKER, which was inclined to lay outwards.

Near the 800m, STARS APOLLO (A Munro) had to be eased when tightened for room between BLOOD ROYAL, which shifted inwards slightly and LIM’S SPRINT, which shifted outwards slightly.

Approaching the 700m, DUTY FIRST had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of CONVICT (App R Azhar), which shifted inwards slightly.

STICK SEEKER and BLOOD ROYAL both raced wide throughout.

RUN CHEETAH RUN (App J See) showed no early pace despite the urgings of its rider.

Jockey Chavez, the rider of SMART PEOPLE, was fined a sum of S$500 under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip near the 300m.

CONVICT laid inwards under pressure near the 200m.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both LIM’S SPRINT and LUCKY MISSION which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 11:  CLASS 4 - 1600M

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 10, this race was put back thirty minutes and rescheduled to start at 1900Hrs.

Prior to the running of Race 11, Trainer HW Tan advised the Stewards that his instructions to Jockey E Chaves, the rider of WINNING GOOD, if circumstances permit, to try and ride in a handy position.

LIM’S BATTLE (KB Soo) was tightened on jumping between DANGER ZONE (K Fujii) and ACROSS THE SEA (Jockey K A’Isisuhairi), which jumped awkwardly outwards.

NINETYSEVENEMPEROR (A Da Silva) was bumped by BOB (M Rodd), which jumped awkwardly inwards. Shortly after, NINETYSEVENEMPEROR had to be eased when tightened between DAAD’S THE WAY (App Z Zuriman) and BOB, which continued to shift inwards.

Near the 1300m, DANGER ZONE was buffeted for a short distance between ACROSS THE SEA and SMART VINTAGE (B Vorster), which was proving difficult to settle.

Approaching the 1000m, SMART VINTAGE had to be eased when tightened between XZUBERANCE (App Y Salim) and ACROSS THE SEA, which rolled inwards slightly.

ACROSS THE SEA raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 200m, SIR REGINALD (M Nunes) laid outwards under pressure obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount. SIR REGINALD continued to lay outwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both XZUBERANCE and SMART VINTAGE which revealed no apparent abnormality.
