NOVEMBER (GOLD CUP) MEETING
Sunday,  15 November 2015

 RACE 1:  ALTRUISM STAKES
                 KRANJI STAKES D, DIV 2 - 1400M

Trainer L Dragon, when questioned regarding the significant decrease in the body weight of REMEMBER ME (A D Silva), stated that the gelding was having its first start for her after returning from a short spell. She added that REMEMBER ME had progressed well during training and had worked well. She also added that REMEMBER ME was, in her opinion, fit to start. A Pre-Race veterinary examination passed REMEMBER ME fit to race.

TENMA (D Beasley) was slow to begin.

FELAROF (M Nunes) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

GALAXY EXPRESS (App K A’Isisuhairi) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped Q NINE MAXIM (App R Shafiq).

Shortly after the start, DEAUVILLE (App WS Chan) shifted outwards bumping SPINNING SUCCESS (App R Sazali).

Shortly after the start, SUN EMPIRE (R Woodworth) checked when racing between REMEMBER ME and DOUBLE CASH (E Aslam). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Passing the 1200m, Q NINE MAXIM and FELAROF bumped. Shortly after, Q NINE MAXIM then shifted inwards becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of FELAROF for a short distance.

Near the 1000m, JELLY BEAN (App CC Wong) steadied off the heels of REMEMBER ME, which shifted inwards. JELLY BEAN then shifted outwards abruptly, resulting in YOU DA ONE (A Munro) having to be steadied.

Approaching the 900m, DEAUVILLE steadied outwards away from the heels of Q NINE MAXIM and in so doing, made contact with GALAXY EXPRESS.

SPINNING SUCCESS, which raced wide throughout, laid outwards making the turn into the straight.

REMEMBER ME momentarily steadied near the 500m when DOUBLE CASH laid outwards.

Shortly after passing the 300m, DOUBLE CASH checked when racing to the inside of REMEMBER ME. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

The Farrier reported that Q NINE MAXIM returned having cast its near-hind plate.

App R Rueven reported that BORDEAUX was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination confirmed this.

Jockey Beasley reported that TENMA was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SUN EMPIRE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 2:  BIG HEARTS STAKES
                 RESTRICTED MAIDEN - 1400M

Enroute to the barrier, the breastplate on SLAVONIC DANCE (App K Toh) broke, resulting in it having to be replaced and resaddled. This resulted in a delay and the race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1335Hrs.

SPECIAL FORCE (M Ewe) and MAGIC PAINT (I Saifudin) both jumped away awkwardly.

O’WHAT A FEELING (M Kellady) and SLAVONIC DANCE brushed on jumping.

Shortly after the start, CERDAN (D Beasley) eased when crowded between SLAVONIC DANCE and DEBT COLLECTOR (M Rodd), which shifted outwards.

Passing the 1200m, CERDAN, which was racing keenly, shifted inwards after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of DEBT COLLECTOR. This resulted in MAGIC PAINT being crowded and losing ground.

ROYAL EASTER (CW Brown) and O’WHAT A FEELING both got their heads up when racing keenly near the 1100m.

MY TOUCH (App K A’Isisuhairi) was difficult to settle in the backstraight.

CERDAN and BAIL OUT (E Aslam) were both difficult to settle in the early stages.

Near the 1000m, DEBT COLLECTOR blundered badly and dislodged its rider, resulting in CERDAN, SLAVONIC DANCE, SPECIAL FORCE, MY TOUCH, MAGIC PAINT and CIRRUS (App R Rueven) all being inconvenienced. As a result of this incident, Jockey Beasley, the rider of CERDAN, lost the use of his off-side stirrup iron placing himself at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

SPECIAL FORCE raced wide from the 900m.

Over the concluding stages, LIM’S RESPOND (A Munro) was bumped on a couple of occasions by WARSHIP (B Vorster), which laid inwards.

Shortly after passing the 100m, BORN A FIGHTER (A Da Silva) became awkwardly placed on the heels of ROYAL EASTER, which laid outwards.

 RACE 3:  CHARITY STAKES
                 BENCHMARK 97 - 1200M

BLUE SWEDE (J Powell) jumped outwards and bumped KNIGHT WAGER (C Newitt).

Shortly after the start, EL MILAGRO (D Beasley) shifted inwards and bumped MY LUCKY STRIKE (App CC Wong), which in turn shifted inwards, resulting in KNIGHT WAGER having to be steadied inwards making contact with BLUE SWEDE.

For the majority of the homestraight, INDIAN JADE (M Nunes) laid inwards, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten the gelding on a number of occasions.

Approaching the 50m, GOOD NEWS (O Chavez) eased to avoid the heels of MY LUCKY STRIKE, which rolled outwards under pressure, with BLUE SWEDE being inconvenienced.

HYPERNOVA (App Z Zuriman) raced keenly in the early stages.

The Farrier reported that INDIAN JADE returned having cast its near-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on KNIGHT WAGER which revealed that the horse returned as a roarer. The Veterinary Surgeon also advised that KNIGHT WAGER had previously undergone corrective surgery for this condition.

Jockey CW Brown, when questioned regarding the run of WIMBLEDON, stated that the horse travelled only fairly and despite racing in a good position, failed to run on when placed under pressure. He also reported that WIMBLEDON had returned having cast both-fore plates. His explanation was noted. WIMBLEDON was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse returned not striding out freely.

 RACE 4:  COMMUNITY STAKES
                 CLASS 4 - 1200M

AMAZEALOT (App K Toh) was slow to begin.

SOLARIS SPECTRUM (App CC Wong), which dipped on jumping, was inconvenienced shortly after when PETITE VICTOIRE (App Z Zuriman) was carried inwards by EASY MONEY (App R Shafiq).

PROFESSOR X (O Chavez) jumped outwards at the start carrying HYDRO (CW Brown) out onto WAKINO NEXUS (A Munro), which in turn bumped THIRD PRINCE (A Da Silva) out onto LIM’S ELUSIVE (D Beasley) and DYLAN (App R Rueven).

PETITE VICTOIRE was difficult to settle in the early stages.

DYLAN raced keenly in the backstraight.

Near the 900m, EASY MONEY rolled inwards after being steadied off the heels of PETITE VICTOIRE, which rolled outwards. This resulted in SOLARIS SPECTRUM being momentarily crowded.

WILKINSON (App WS Chan) raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 300m, PETITE VICTOIRE commenced to improve into a tight run between THIRD PRINCE and PROFESSOR X, which was laying inwards. Shortly after, SOLARIS SPECTRUM shifted outwards whilst PROFESSOR X was still laying inwards, resulting in PETITE VICTOIRE having to be eased when crowded between THIRD PRINCE and PROFESSOR X.

SOLARIS SPECTRUM continued to shift outwards under pressure over the final 200m.

Approaching the 100m, SOLARIS SPECTRUM carried WAKINO NEXUS outwards, resulting in HYDRO being momentarily inconvenienced.

The Farrier reported that DYLAN returned having cast its off-fore plate.

App Wong, the rider of SOLARIS SPECTRUM, reported that the gelding had returned with its saddle having shifted back during the race.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that TRINITY (B Vorster) bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

 RACE 5:  COMPASSIONATE STAKES
                 KRANJI STAKES D, DIV 1 - 1400M

Shortly after the start, GUILTLESS (J Powell) was bumped by ROSEGOLD (A Da Silva), which was carried inwards by ZIPPY GENERAL (App K A’Isisuhairi), which shifted inwards and away from ZIPANGU (App R Shafiq).

ZIPPY GENERAL got its head up on a number of occasions when racing keenly between the 1000m and the 800m.

After passing the 1000m, ZIPANGU broke down and was eased out of the race. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on ZIPANGU which revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. ZIPANGU will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

BONTEMPELLI (A Munro) was taken outwards approaching the 400m.

Shortly after making the turn into the straight, ZIPPY GENERAL momentarily steadied when GUILTLESS shifted outwards.

MONEY KING (M Ewe) had difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 400m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on NATURAL NICE (M Rodd) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 6:  HELPING HAND STAKES
                 BENCHMARK 83 - 2200M

GUILT COMPLEX (App Z Zuriman) jumped awkwardly inwards at the start making contact with KEEP SPINNING (App CC Wong).

SMART LAD (App K Toh) jumped away awkwardly.

OM (App K A’Isisuhairi) was slow to begin.

IMPERIAL MARCH (A Da Silva) got its head up on a number of occasions when attempting to steady near the 1900m.

OM proved very difficult to settle in the backstraight.

Near the 600m, SUPER JOE (N Juglall) eased when crowded between BRAD (D Beasley) and MR SPIELBERG (M Nunes), which was giving ground.

SMART LAD had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.

Approaching the 400m, BRAD eased off the heels of SMART LAD, which checked outwards when racing to the outside of IKING (App A Feiruz). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

The Farrier reported that PRECIOUS GEM (App R Rueven) returned having cast its near-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on IN FACT (B Vorster) which revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. IN FACT will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BRAD which revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. BRAD will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

Jockey Nunes, the rider of MR SPIELBERG, explained that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages. However, when he started to ride MR SPIELBERG along from the 700m, his mount failed to respond to his riding and lost ground. As he was concerned that something was amiss with MR SPIELBERG, he eased the gelding down over the concluding stages. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MR SPIELBERG which revealed that the horse returned with an irregular heart rhythm. MR SPIELBERG will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 7:  KINDNESS STAKES
                 NOVICE - 1200M

NUMERO UNO (App R Hasri) jumped away awkwardly and in so doing, shifted inwards crowding SATCHMO (App Z Zuriman), which lost ground.

CUARON (M Rodd), which began awkwardly, was crowded shortly after the start when MARK ECLIPSE (App K A’Isisuhairi) shifted inwards after making contact with STICK SEEKER (C Newitt).

ELISE (I Saifudin) and NOMERCY (R Woodworth) bumped on jumping.

Near the 1100m, BIG MAN (M Kellady) got its head up when proving difficult to settle.

PEER GYNT (A Da Silva) raced wide throughout.

CUARON and SATCHMO both had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early part of the straight.

MORALES (D Beasley) was unable to secure a clear run over the final 400m.

Approaching the 300m, Jockey Da Silva, the rider of PEER GYNT, dropped his whip. He was subsequently warned that a repetition of dropping his whip may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.

 RACE 8:  MAGNANIMITY STAKES
                 CLASS 3 - 1400M

LEE BANK (S John) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start, GOLDEN TOMAHAWK (CW Brown) and RUN IT TWICE (D Beasley) were both carried inwards when NOVA WARRIOR (App R Shafiq) shifted inwards.

Passing the 1200m, MAC VOLKS (R Woodworth) checked when racing to the inside of NOVA WARRIOR. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

TURQUOISE KING (O Chavez) raced wide throughout.

ROOM FOR EXCUSE (App K A’Isisuhairi) had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 450m and the 400m.

The Farrier reported that NOVA WARRIOR returned having cast its near-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on RAFAELLO (N Juglall) which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

 RACE 9:  MUNIFICENCE STAKES
                 KRANJI STAKES C - 1600M

Acting on veterinary advice that DRAGON G (D Beasley) was found to be lame near-fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1719Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

WAR TIME (App WS Chan) began awkwardly.

POWER PLAY (N Juglall) was inconvenienced by ROCKFAST (App R Shafiq), which jumped awkwardly outwards.

ANY RUMOUR (M Rodd) and BLADEMEISTER (M Kellady) bumped on jumping.

CONSTANCE’S SPIRIT (App K Toh), which jumped away awkwardly, veered outwards sharply, resulting in it being slow into stride.

Shortly after the start, EMPRESS WU (TH Koh) and NEWLANDS (A Munro) bumped on a couple of occasions.

ZULULAND (C Newitt) and ANY RUMOUR both raced keenly in the backstraight.

NEWLANDS raced wide throughout.

Near the 1000m, POWER PLAY was crowded and brushed the running rail when ANY RUMOUR shifted inwards whilst racing keenly.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on NEWLANDS which revealed that the horse returned with an irregular heart rhythm. NEWLANDS will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that ANY RUMOUR exhibited signs of heat stress. ANY RUMOUR will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 10:  LONGINES SINGAPORE GOLD CUP
                   SINGAPORE GROUP 1 - 2200M

After arriving at the barrier, PERFECT P (B Vorster) had its saddle readjusted.

TWICKENHAM (App K A’Isisuhairi) jumped outwards at the start carrying SEBROSE (M Nunes) out onto PERFECT P, which in turn made contact with EMPEROR’S BANQUET (N Juglall).

MARTIN (D Beasley), which was slightly slow to begin, was crowded on jumping between BLUE DANUBE (A Da Silva) and HUGHSY (App CC Wong), which jumped awkwardly inwards.

Near the 1800m, EMPEROR’S BANQUET and BLUE DANUBE were both buffeted for a short distance when racing between A LA VICTORY (C Newitt) and QUECHUA (CW Brown).

Passing the 1200m, EMPEROR’S BANQUET and COOPTADO (App R Shafiq) bumped on a couple of occasions.

FASTNET DRAGON (A Munro) had a tendency to lay outwards over the final 300m.

VALBUENA (O Chavez), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on QUECHUA which revealed that the horse returned with a cut on its near-hind leg.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on A LA VICTORY which revealed no apparent abnormality. A LA VICTORY, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 11:  PHILANTHROPY STAKES
                   CLASS 4 - 1400M

Due to the extended presentation following Singapore Gold Cup, the race was put back ten minutes and rescheduled to start at 1845Hrs.

THE GREAT GREY (App R Rueven) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with NATION THEATRE (App K A’Isisuhairi).

Shortly after the start, LAKE HUKA (D Beasley) shifted inwards and bumped TERMS OF REFERENCE (B Vorster) in onto NORTH ATLANTIC ICE (App R Shafiq), which had been carried outwards by MANGATOETOENUI (M Rodd). At the same time, HORSE WARRIOR (App CC Wong) shifted inwards and bumped BAHANA (CW Brown) in onto LIM’S BULLET (A Munro), which in turn made contact with ASPEN (App R Zawari).

Near the 1200m, TERMS OF REFERENCE checked when racing between NORTH ATLANTIC ICE and SILVER STAR (N Juglall). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Passing the 1000m, SILVER STAR and NORTH ATLANTIC ICE bumped on a couple of occasions.

Approaching the 900m, LAKE HUKA laid inwards making contact with MANGATOETOENUI. NORTH ATLANTIC ICE and SILVER STAR, which were both following, had to be eased in consequence.

Approaching the 400m, SILVER STAR, which was inclined to lay inwards, had to be eased off the heels of LAKE HUKA, which rolled outwards.

Passing the 300m, LAKE HUKA eased inwards away from the heels of SILVER STAR, which shifted inwards. Jockey Juglall was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

SOCOTRA (C Newitt), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LIM’S BULLET which revealed no apparent abnormality.
