 RACE 1:  CLASS 5 - 1400M

BENGAWAN (App P Dellorto) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start, VITALICO (App R Shafiq) shifted inwards abruptly carrying SHEN KIM (S John) inwards into GOLDEN THIRD HORSE (M Kellady).

Near the 1200m, VITALICO which was racing keenly was steadied away from the heel of ZINLY (J Moreira), which laid inwards away from GOOD TIMING (YF Leong).

BENGAWAN hung outwards passing the 1100m.

Near the 800m, ATLIXCO (B Vorster) was momentarily hampered whilst racing tight to the inside of GOOD TIMING.

GOOD TIMING raced wide without cover throughout.

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY (S Sam) laid outwards under pressure from the 600m.

SMARTY SMARTY (S Anandan) shifted outwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

When question regarding the improve performance of CAN’T TOUCH ME (App R Zawari), ‘B’ Trainer Ricardo Le Grange stated that the gelding, which was having it’s first up from a spell today had a work and trialed well leading towards today’s event. He further stated that CAN’T TOUCH ME had appreciated the slight give in today’s track and the 3kgs claim from the apprentice rider. His explanation was noted.

Jockey Bosson, the rider of BEAUMAN, reported that his horse was making respiratory noises. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. BEAUMAN will be required to will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

The Farrier reported that BEAUMAN returned having cast its near-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on FOR YOUR EYES ONLY which revealed no apparent abnormality.

ZINLY was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 2:  INITIATION - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

CHATEAUNEUF DUPAPE (J Moreira) and MILK POWER (R Woodworth) both bumped on jumping.

JERAM ROSE WOOD (O Placais) was buffeted on jumping between GOOD PARTNER (B Vorster) and HELLOLO (O Bosson), which jumped awkwardly outwards.

For a short distance after the start, I’M A RICH MAN (KB Soo) was crowded between BE LUCKY (J Powell), which shifted inwards away from HAPPY RAINBOW (Alan Ng) and COLD SECRET (E Aslam) which shifted outwards away from SHORTCUT (App T Rehaizat).

On several occasions approaching the 1000m, GOOD PARTNER and FIRE REVIVE (App J Farook) bumped.

Approaching the 800m, HAPPY RAINBOW steadied when BE LUCKY rolled outwards slightly.

Passing the 700m, I’M A RICH MAN steadied when crowded to the inside of COLD SECRET, which shifted inwards slightly away from SHORTCUT.

BE LUCKY and GOOD PARTNER both hung outwards passing the 700m.

FIRE REVIVE raced wide without cover throughout.

For the majority of the straight, ISLE OF ARRAN (D Beasley) and CHATEAUNEUF DUPAPE raced tight resulting in both horses making contact on several occasions.

The saddle of FIRE REVIVE, shifted to the near-side during the event placing its rider at a disadvantage resulting its rider being dislodged passing the winning post.

CHATEAUNEUF DUPAPE misrode near the winning post.

 RACE 3:  CLASS 4 - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

STUB (D Beasley) began awkwardly, shifted inwardly abruptly and lost ground.

KINGTRAP (M Zaki) and THAT’STHEONE (E Aslam) both bumped on jumping.

STUB showed no early pace despite the urging of its rider.

Passing the 900m, STEVEN (J Moreira) was steadied and lost ground when crowded to the inside of XIN TREASURE (YF Leong) which laid inwards away from BM WIN (V Sivan).

WINONTOP (App WL Tan) raced wide throughout

Passing the 800m, THAT’STHEONE hung outwards carrying KINGTRAP wider on the track.

BM WIN laid inwards under pressure in the straight.

WINONTOP laid inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on STUB which revealed no apparent abnormality.

STEVEN was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that ALPHA DYNAMIC (J Powell) bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

 RACE 4:  CLASS 4 - 1600M

VERSAILLES PALACE (YF LEONG), broke away from its handler in the Pre Race Holding Area. It then galloped riderless for some distance. As the gelding had been unattended for some time, the Race Meeting Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1153Hrs.

BUMBLE BEE (I Andy) was slow into stride.

Near the 800m, SNOW MOUNTAIN (App R Zawari) which was racing keenly was momentarily steadied away from the heels of VOLPISTA (B Vorster).

Passing the 800m, COOL CAT (E Aslam) was steadied away from the heels of MOEROCK (S Anandan) after being bumped outward by VOLPISTA which shifted outwards after becoming awkwardly placed whilst racing behind MSIXTEN (J Moreira).

From the 450m until passing the 300m, COOL CAT was held up and unable to improve.

Over the concluding stages SNOW MOUNTAIN was steadied when racing up close on the heels of MSIXTEEN.

The Farrier reported that MOEROCK returned having cast its near-fore plate.

 RACE 5:  CLASS 5 - 1800M (POLYTRACK)

FLYING CLIPPER (I Saifudin) and OIL BARON (J Moreira) bumped on jumping.

WHO ELS (App YY Oon) began awkwardly shifted inwards and hampering ELYSIUM (V Sivan).

TAKESHI (R Woodworth) raced keenly in the early stages.

FORTUNE EIGHT (KT Cheng) showed no early pace despite the urging of its rider.

Passing the 1000m, ALVITO (App JL Li) steadied when KNIGHT’S PARADISE (App SH Low) rolled outwards slightly.

ELYSIUM raced wide without cover throughout.

 RACE 6:  BENCHMARK 83 - 1400M

GRAND ARRIVAL (App WL Tan) and JOYLUCK (App CS Chin) bumped on jumping.

MY FRIEND JO (J Powell) raced keenly in the backstraight.

FUKU KITARU (KB Soo) blundered on jumping.

Passing the 600m, LEGEND (App SH Low) had to be steadied whilst racing tight to the inside of MTY FRIEND JO. JOYLUCK which was following was hampered in consequence.

ALWAYS HAPPY (B Vorster) raced wide without cover throughout.

Near the 400, FUKU KITARU was hampered when GRAND ARRIVAL shifted outwards.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on ALWAYS HAPPY which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 7:  MAIDEN - 1200M

Shortly after the start, HEARD THE LATEST (D Beasley) was buffeted between SIR ELTON (App TH Koh), which was carried inwards by ENZO (V Sivan) and CARRE BLANC (App R Shafiq) which was carried outwards by MOOVA EIGHT (O Chavez).

Near the 1000m, LONG FENG (M Zaki) blundered.

Approaching the 400m, CARRE BLANC steadied when crowded between MOOVA EIGHT and ENZO which shifted inwards abruptly.

When question regarding the disappointing performance of HEARD THE LATEST, Jockey Beasley stated that the gelding travelled well in the early stages but when placed under pressure passing the 600m, HEARD THE LATEST did not respond and lost ground. His explanation was noted. HEARD THE LATEST was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality. HEARD THE LATEST, which raced poorly will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

ROMAN GLADIATOR (App P Dellorto), which raced poorly will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

LUCKY WISH (M Zaki) was slow to begin.

BROWN SHADOW (S John) and ZAFONIC STAR (B Vorster) bumped on jumping.

TERMINATOR (O Chavez) began awkwardly and shifted outwards after the start.

PRINCE PARETO (O Bosson) laid inwards in the backstraight.

SECONDTONONE (O Placais) and BROWN SHADOW raced wide without cover throughout.

TERMINATOR raced greenly in the straight obliging its rider to stop riding on several occasions.

 RACE 9:  OPEN - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

NORTHERN LION (J Moreira) was difficult to be loaded. Trainer HK Tan was advised that a warning has been placed on NORTHERN LION regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

BETTER BE THE ONE (App WL Tan) and POWERFUL TREE (App SB Ng) bumped on jumping.

POWERFUL TREE hung outwards near the 600m and race wide without cover throughout.

Jockey Vorster, the rider of FINDERSKEEPERS, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. FINDERSKEEPERS will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 10:  CLASS 3 - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

SQUALL LINE (J Moreira) raced wide without cover throughout.

TROPICAL FOREST (R Woodworth) was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 11:  CLASS 4 - 1400M

Prior to this race, after initially weighing out as the rider of TATTOO in this event, Jockey Moreira advised Stewards that he had changed his riding boots. Stewards ordered Jockey Moreira to re-weigh at which time he was unable to make the declared weight. As no rider was available, and to avoid unnecessary delay, the Race Meeting Stewards ordered the withdrawal of TATTOO at 1801Hrs. An inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

STANZOUT (O Bosson), ZAC NIRVANA (App R Shafiq) and THE CINDERELLA MAN (O CHAVEZ) were all slow to begin.

Near the 900m, SUPER SPUR (O Placais) steadied when momentarily crowded between ZAC NIRVANA (App R Shafiq) and STANZOUT.

An inquiry into the reason BULL AND BEAR fell near the 800m will be held at a date to be fixed.

BETTER FRIENDS (S Sam) raced wide without cover throughout.

Making the turn into the straight, SOCIAL NETWORK (App P Dellorto) was held up and unable to improve.

JET STREAM (I Saifudin) raced greenly in the straight.

A subsequent veterinary examination were requested on horses BERNANKE (D Beasley) and BETTER FRIENDS which revealed no apparent abnormality. BERNANKE and BETTER FRIENDS which both raced poorly will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

SUPER SPUR was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality. SUPER SPUR which raced poorly will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

The Farrier reported that JET STREAM returned having cast its off-fore hind.

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Sunday, 15 January 2012, App R Shafiq, the rider of CORSAGE, was fined a sum of S$1,000 in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(b) for disobeying a Stewards’ order by failing to attend an inquiry on Sunday, 15 January 2012, as directed by the Stewards.
