SUNDAY, 24 JANUARY 2016:

RACE 10 [TF130]

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Sunday, 14 February 2016, Jockey S John, the rider of ANONYMOUS, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding ANONYMOUS in Race 10 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 24 January 2016, near the 250m, he directed his mount to shift outwards, whilst riding it along, when not sufficiently clear of BATTLE KING (A Munro), resulting in that gelding having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey John that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Friday, 19 February 2016. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Saturday, 20 February 2016 until Friday, 26 February 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his right of appeal.
