NOVEMBER (EW BARKER TROPHY) MEETING

 RACE 1:  BORN TO FLY 2015 STAKES
                 CLASS 5, DIV 1 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

LUCKY EIGHTY EIGHT (App N Alfian) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.

On jumping, App J See, the rider of WARSPIRIT, lost his off-side stirrup iron placing him at a disadvantage throughout the race.

WARSPIRIT and OUR RIVER DANCER (App R Hasri) bumped on jumping. This resulted in OUR RIVER DANCER then shifting inwards making contact with VITALLY SECRET (App R Firdhaus).

EXCEPTIONAL CHOICE (App R Zawari) raced wide throughout.

Shortly after making the turn into the straight, I’M KOOL (App WS Chan) shifted outwards making contact with WARSPIRIT. This resulted in WARSPIRIT shifting outwards into the running of ZAC COMMAND (App CK Ng), which was making ground. ZAC COMMAND then had to be checked and taken outwards to obtain clear running.

The Farrier reported that VITALLY SECRET returned having cast its near-fore plate.

The Farrier reported that MR PATRON (App R Rueven) returned having cast both-fore plates.

App Alfian reported that LUCKY EIGHTY EIGHT was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

App J See, the rider of WARSPIRIT, when questioned regarding the start, stated that after jumping a little awkwardly, his foot slipped out of his off-side stirrup iron. Despite attempting on several occasions in the backstraight, he was unable to regain his off-side stirrup iron and as such, confirming that it placed him at a disadvantage throughout the race. His explanation was noted.

 RACE 2:  TRUDEAU 2013 STAKES
                 INITIATION - 1400M

MR BLOSSOM (TH Koh) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.

ZIP A DEE DOO DAH (App WS Chan) was slow to begin.

SPECIAL ID (M Ewe) jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 1000m, THE DODGER (App R Rueven) commenced to race keenly and had to be steadied off the heels of ROYAL EXPLORER (B Vorster).

Near the 1000m, GOLD RESERVE (App K Toh), which was difficult to settle, lost ground after having to be eased when racing up onto the heels of ZIP A DEE DOO DAH.

Near the 500m, DAMON (M Nunes) steadied off the heels of ZARULES (A Munro), which shifted outwards abruptly to obtain clear running.

DAMON had a tendency to lay inwards in the straight obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount on a number of occasions.

MISS BLANCHETT (I Saifudin) laid inwards over the final 400m obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount.

The Farrier reported that DAMON returned having cast its off-fore plate.

Jockey Beasley D reported that CLASSIFIED was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MR BLOSSOM which revealed no apparent abnormality. MR BLOSSOM, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 3:  WHAT NOW 2012 STAKES
                 CLASS 4, DIV 1 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

App A Syahir, the rider of TOAST’S ANGEL, was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to claim and ride at his declared riding weight.

Trainer T Kieser was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to submit his request for Jockey A Munro to ride overweight on JOE within the prescribed time at Declarations.

JOE, which was fractious in the barrier, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

LION WAVE (App K Toh) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.

SCIENCE FICTION (CW Brown) jumped awkwardly inwards making contact with SOLITAIRE (J Powell).

JOE SWIPER (N Juglall) jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 800m, DREAMCATCHER (App R Shafiq) eased after racing up onto the heels of TOAST’S ANGEL.

LIKA TIGER (D Beasley) and WONDERFUL ERA (App TR Barnabas) both raced wide throughout.

SCIENCE FICTION had a tendency to lay outwards near the 800m.

BLACK MAMBA (App T See) had a tendency to lay outwards over the final 200m.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both LIKA TIGER and JOE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 4:  SUPER EASY 2011 STAKES
                 CLASS 5 - 1700M (POLYTRACK)

TIME AFTER TIME (S Sam) and ZENZERO (App K A’Isisuhairi) bumped on jumping.

Shortly after the start, HANDSOME BAB (M Nunes) was crowded between OVER EASY (App R Firdhaus) and GALLANT HEIGHTS (App J See), which shifted outwards. OVER EASY and HANDSOME BAB then bumped on a number of occasions shortly thereafter.

After passing the 1400m, TIME AFTER TIME, which was racing keenly, shifted outwards and bumped TONGARIRO (M Ewe) out onto HAKAMGONG (I Saifudin) on a number of occasions. TIME AFTER TIME continued to race keenly for some distance thereafter.

OVER EASY raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 400m, HAN SOLO (J Powell) rolled outwards and made contact with RIGHT IS RIGHT (A Da Silva).

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on OVER EASY which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 5:  ANY HUMOUR 2010 STAKES
                 CLASS 4, DIV 2 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

EXCITING PROSPECT (App CC Wong) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.

XIN TREASURE (R Woodworth), which jumped away awkwardly, was crowded shortly after between FEDERER (J Powell), which jumped inwards and GOLDEN PASTURE (App K Toh), which jumped outwards.

ROYAL STYLE (O Chavez) and ALAN (B Vorster) were both slow into stride after making contact on jumping.

NINETYSEVENSUCCESS (App K A’Isisuhairi) and XIN TREASURE both raced wide throughout.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on ROYAL STYLE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 6:  ACE ALIADO 2009 STAKES
                 CLASS 5, DIV 2 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

RAINBOW STAR (App K Toh), which began extremely awkwardly, shifted outwards and bumped EASY EASY (App M Jailani).

TOOBIGTOFAIL (TH Koh) and SACRED CROWN (App N Alfian) both began awkwardly.

Approaching the 800m, SACRED CROWN eased to avoid the heels of GREENBACK (App A Feiruz), which was taken inwards by THINK PRETTY (E Aslam).

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on CASSIS OOLONG (App J See) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 7:  EW BARKER TROPHY
                 SINGAPORE GROUP 2 - 1400M

ABSOLUTELY (App CC Wong) was slow to begin.

Near the 900m, BORN TO FLY (App J See) steadied off the heels of SPALATO (M Nunes), which shifted inwards.

Making the turn into the straight, DRAGON FURY (D Beasley) eased off the heels of SPANISH BAY (CW Brown), which shifted outwards marginally.

Passing the 300m, LASER STORM (App R Shafiq) had to be eased when crowded between BORN TO FLY and JIMMY REA (A Munro), which shifted inwards under pressure.

Near the 250m, Jockey N Juglall, the rider of MAGNETO, dropped his whip. He was subsequently warned that a repetition of dropping his whip may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.

Near the 200m, DAVIDE (B Vorster) checked when racing between LASER STORM to its outside and TITANIUM (R Woodworth) and BORN TO FLY to its inside. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Approaching the 100m, TITANIUM raced in restricted room between LASER STORM and JIMMY REA. This resulted in TITANIUM making contact with LASER STORM and turning that gelding in slightly, resulting in TITANIUM being crowded and having to be eased.

The Farrier reported that MAGNETO returned having cast both-fore plates.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that BALE STAR (App Z Zuriman) bled. As this being the gelding’s third bleeding attack, it shall be permanently banned for racing in terms of MRA Rule 92(7).

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on JIMMY REA which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 8:  BIG MAVERICK 2008 STAKES
                 CLASS 3 - 1200M

SMART PEOPLE (O Chavez) was slow to begin.

WONDERFUL PRINCE (M Nunes) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

OCEAN GENERAL (M Ewe) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped BACH’S AIR (A Da Silva).

CAPTIVATE (App R Sazali) began awkwardly.

Near the 1000m, WONDERFUL PRINCE became unbalanced and lost ground when racing to the inside of BOARD WALK (N Jugall), which shifted inwards slightly.

Near the 900m, WONDERFUL PRINCE checked when racing to the inside of BOARD WALK and DIVIDED HOUSE (App K A’Isisuhairi). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Approaching the 800m, BOGART (App CC Wong) eased to avoid the heels of BACH’S AIR, which rolled inwards slightly.

DIVIDED HOUSE was held up for clear running from near the 500m until after passing the 400m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on WONDERFUL PRINCE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

App R Shafiq, when questioned regarding the disappointing performance of WINNING MAN, stated that whilst the gelding was unable to cross THE GENERAL (B Vorster) early in the race, WINNING MAN travelled comfortably outside the leader. He added that when placed under pressure in the homestraight, the gelding did not respond to his riding and failed to finish the race off as expected. His explanation was noted. WINNING MAN was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 9:  WORLD AIRLINES 2007 STAKES
                 CLASS 4, DIV 3 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

Prior to the running of Race 9, Trainer S Baertschiger advised the Stewards that his instructions to Jockey M Kellady, the rider of GADAWON, if circumstances permit, to jump and ride in a forward position.

SAVAGE STORM (N Juglall) was slow to begin.

MIGHTY MAN (CW Brown) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped NOVA STRIKE (App R Shafiq).

CAIRO (App J See) began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, GADAWON, which was marginally slow to begin, was crowded between RAVOUX (App P Dellorto) and MR TRY (S Sam), which shifted outwards after beginning awkwardly.

After passing the 1000m, EVERTRUST (App CC Wong) eased to avoid the heels of NOVA STRIKE, which shifted inwards.

Approaching and passing the 800m, MIGHTY MAN, which was racing keenly, shifted inwards and bumped EVERTRUST on a number of occasions, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.

THANKFULNESS (D Beasley) raced wide throughout.

SUPERSONICSURPRISE (A Munro) had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 450m until the 200m.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both MIGHTY MAN and SAVAGE STORM which revealed no apparent abnormality.
