Trainer HW Tan confirmed these instructions. App T See further stated that after jumping away awkwardly, he raced in a position slightly worse than midfield. He further stated that despite riding his mount along in the middle stages, it failed to respond and make up ground. However, when placed under pressure in the straight, HAPPY SAGA had run on well. In addition, he stated that when making ground, he had to ease his mount over the concluding stages when runners in front shifted ground. Whilst noting his explanation, App T See was advised to ride in a manner so as not to arouse query in future.

SINGAPORE FEBRUARY MEETING 2016
FRIDAY, 5 FEBRUARY 2016:

RACE 9 [TF172]

On Wednesday, 9 March 2016, the Stewards concluded an inquiry into the run of ZIPPY GENERAL (K A’Isisuhairi). When questioned, Jockey A’Isisuhairi explained that he had been instructed to ride ZIPPY GENERAL quietly in the early stages, improve his position rounding the hometurn and bring the horse to the outside in the homestraight in an effort to finish the race off strongly. Trainer S Burridge, Trainer of ZIPPY GENERAL, confirmed the instructions. Jockey A’Isisuhairi added that his mount settled well in the early stages, then after making ground rounding the hometurn, he then attempted to improve to the outside approaching the 400m. However, his mount, which was inclined to shift inwards and away from DRAGON HIGHNESS, was disappointed for a clear run between that gelding and IN BOCCA AL LUPO. He further added that when attempting to improve between MEDIA CAPTAIN and IN BOCCA AL LUPO passing the 300m, his mount was hesitant and had a tendency to shy away from IN BOCCA AL LUPO when that gelding rolled inwards. He also explained that if his mount did improve quickly at that stage, it may have been held up on the heels of CERTAINLY, which was racing directly ahead of ZIPPY GENERAL. In an effort to give his mount a better opportunity to run on, he thought his best option was to ease the gelding to the outside of IN BOCCA AL LUPO near the 200m and improve with clear running, which he was able to do, with ZIPPY GENERAL running on fairly over the concluding stages. Whilst noting his explanation, Jockey A’Isisuhairi was warned and advised to ride in a manner so as not to arouse query in future.

SINGAPORE FEBRUARY MEETING 2016
FRIDAY, 12 FEBRUARY 2016:

RACE 4 [TF203]

On Wednesday, 9 March 2016, the Stewards concluded an inquiry into the run of TOOBIGTOFAIL (I Saifudin). When questioned, Jockey Saifudin advised that he was instructed to race where comfortable and to come to the outside in the straight. Trainer D Koh confirmed these instructions. Jockey Saifudin further stated that after racing midfield on the fence, he angled his horse off the rails making the turn into the straight. He further stated that near the 300m, whilst there was a run to the inside, it was some three lengths ahead and he was concerned that his horse may not be able to proceed into the run quickly enough as he was also concerned the runners in front may shift ground. As such, he elected to attempt to come to the outside as instructed. He initially anticipated that the runners improving to the outside would make ground quickly, thereby enabling him to get to the outside. However, these runners did not quicken as expected, resulting in him being held up on the heels as he was attempting to come to the outside. Thereafter, after getting to the outside, TOOBIGTOFAIL became unbalanced slightly and shifted outwards, after which it took TOOBIGTOFAIL some distance to balance up, following which TOOBIGTOFAIL had run on well. Whilst noting his instructions, Jockey Saifudin was warned and advised to ride in a manner so as not to arouse query in future.
