 RACE 1:  CLASS 5 - 1400M

App R Hasri, the rider of GEARIGURU, was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to claim and ride at his declared riding weight.

JIMTOWN (App R Rueven) was slow into stride.

WESTERN BOSS (K Fujii) began awkwardly

SUVARNABHUMI (K A’Isisuhairi) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

REMEMBER ME (D Beasley) shifted inwards after jumping away awkwardly and in so doing, bumped HARDCORE ROCK (App MM Firdaus) in onto EASY EASY (E Chaves), resulting in ALADDIN (S Sam) having to be eased off the heels of EASY EASY.

Near the 600m, HUMOR TOWN (TH Koh) eased when racing tight between ALADDIN, which rolled inwards slightly and JIMTOWN, which rolled outwards.

CONGO ZANDOR (R Woodworth) raced wide from the 600m.

Approaching the 100m, GEARIGURU and RAVOUX (App I Amirul) made contact.

Jockey Sam reported that ALADDIN was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned with epiglottic entrapment. ALADDIN will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

 RACE 2:  RESTRICTED MAIDEN - 1200M

BORN A FIGHTER (B Vorster) was crowded on jumping between SUPER BUFFALO (J Powell), which jumped inwards and SUPERTEN (M Zaki), which jumped outwards at the start.

SGFIFTY (App R Rueven) jumped away awkwardly.

LIM’S KNIGHT (O Chavez) raced keenly in the early stages.

WHITE SHADOW (E Chaves) raced wide throughout.

ROYAL EASTER (CW Brown) was held up and unable to improve between the 600m and the 250m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SUPERTEN which revealed that the horse returned with a cut on its near-hind inside fetlock.

 RACE 3:  CLASS 4, DIV 2 - 1400M

After arriving at the barrier, SUN EMPIRE (R Woodworth) had its saddle readjusted.

LUCKY STRATEGY (A Da Silva) was slow to begin.

BANNISTER (App I Amirul) and WEE MONSTER (App MM Firdaus) bumped on jumping.

AMAZON GOLD (M Nunes) jumped inwards at the start crowding ZEUS (CW Brown) onto HORSE WARRIOR (M Rodd), resulting in ZEUS losing ground.

Shortly after the start, HIGH COUNCIL (B Vorster) became unbalanced after ELISE (I Saifudin) was bumped by RUM N RAISINS (D Beasley), which laid outwards. This resulted in ELISE being buffeted for a short distance between HIGH COUNCIL and RUM N RAISINS.

Near the 1000m, AMAZON GOLD checked when racing to the inside of RUM N RAISINS, HIGH COUNCIL and ZEUS to its inside. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Passing the 1000m, AMAZON GOLD was crowded and bumped outwards onto the heels of RUM N RAISINS when ELISE shifted outwards when racing keenly.

Near the 500m, ELISE shifted outwards and brushed AMAZON GOLD, carrying that gelding wider on the track.

Jockey Vorster, the rider of HIGH COUNCIL, was fined a sum of S$500 under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip near the 300m.

For the majority of the homestraight, GET GOING (App CC Wong) laid inwards, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten the gelding on a number of occasions.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both ELISE and AMAZON GOLD which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 4:  INITIATION - 1400M

After arriving at the barrier, RED JEWEL (B Vorster) had its saddle readjusted.

MONTE CARLO (R Woodworth) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped STAR CHOICE (M Nunes) in onto NINEPINS (CW Brown).

VOYAGER (App CC Wong), which was marginally slow to begin, had to be eased shortly after the start off the heels of CELERITAS (K A’Isisuhairi), which shifted outwards.

Shortly after the start, FALKIRK LEAD (M Kellady) and RED JEWEL were both badly hampered when crowded between EASY DRAGON (KB Soo), which shifted inwards after beginning awkwardly and MISS STREISAND (E Chaves), which had been bumped heavily by MAGIC PAINT (App WT Chung) on jumping.

Near the 800m, MISS STREISAND steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of MAGIC PAINT, which had been carried inwards slightly by EASY DRAGON.

PARKER (App Z Zuriman) and AMISTAD (App R Rueven) both raced wide throughout.

Near the 600m, FALKIRK LEAD steadied after improving up onto the heels of EASY DRAGON.

Near the 600m, VOYAGER shifted outwards when improving and in so doing, carried MONTE CARLO wider on the track.

MAGIC PAINT had some difficulty obtaining clear running from the 400m to the 200m.

Over the concluding stages, GOLDEN FORTUNE (O Chavez) and CELERITAS raced tightly and brushed on a number of occasions.

Whilst Stewards were of the opinion that it had not affected the placings, Jockey Vorster, the rider of RED JEWEL, was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race.

MONTE CARLO, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on VOYAGER which revealed that the horse exhibited signs of respiratory distress after the race. VOYAGER will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on NINEPINS which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 5:  KRANJI STAKES C - 2000M

Acting on veterinary advice that IMPERIAL MARCH (App CC Wong) was found to be lame off-hind, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2020Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

SUNNY (S Sam) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, ZIP A DEE DOO DAH (E Chaves) steadied off the heels of FUJIN BRIGHT (I Saifudin), which shifted inwards. Thereafter, ZIP A DEE DOO DAH raced wide throughout.

DANGER ZONE (K Fujii) and ZIP A DEE DOO DAH brushed on a number of occasions over the final 150m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SUPER JOE (B Vorster) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 6:  CLASS 4, DIV 2 - 1200M

DUTY FREE (App M Jailani), which began awkwardly, shifted inwards bumping ARES (CW Brown). Shortly after, ARES was again bumped by INFANTRY (E Chaves), which shifted outwards after beginning awkwardly.

Near the 1100m, ARES shifted outwards and away from LIM’S CHARGE (O Chavez) and in so doing, carried WE ARE GENIUS (I Saifudin) wider on the track.

POWER LIN (App CC Wong), LIM’S CHARGE and DUTY FREE all raced wide throughout.

INVINCIBLE MAN (K Fujii) raced keenly in the middle stages.

POWER LIN had a tendency to hang outwards from the 800m until the 400m.

The Farrier reported that ELUSIVE EMPEROR (B Vorster) returned having cast its near-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on WE ARE GENIUS which revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. WE ARE GENIUS will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LIM’S CHARGE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 7:  KRANJI STAKES A - 1200M

Due to a technical issue with the betting system prior to Race 7, this race was put back forty minutes and rescheduled to start at 2200Hrs.

BLUE SWEDE (M Kellady) was slow into stride.

Near the 1000m, WIMBLEDON (CW Brown) steadied inwards away from the heels of GHOST (App WT Chung), which had been carried outwards by KIWI KARMA (M Nunes).

BLUE SWEDE mis-strode passing the 800m.

Passing the 100m, RAISE NO DOUBT (A Da Silva) and WIMBLEDON brushed on a couple of occasions.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BLUE SWEDE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 8:  CLASS 4, DIV 1 - 1400M

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 7, this race was put back forty minutes and rescheduled to start at 2230Hrs.

Prior to the start, RUSTY BROWN (CW Brown) and SKY ELEVEN (App WS Chan) were both examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race.

THE DODGER (App I Amirul) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped RUSTY BROWN.

FELAROF (M Nunes) jumped inwards at the start carrying ASTROJET (A Da Silva) in onto MAREA NEGRO (K Fujii).

SKY ELEVEN was slow into stride.

Passing the 1000m, MOLLY BROWNE (App CK Ng) commenced to race tight to the outside of LUCKY COIN (E Chaves), which shifted outwards when being steadied off the heels of GROENEWEGEN (M Rodd), which was inclined to lay outwards. Shortly after, MOLLY BROWNE was checked and crowded between AMAZING (J Powell) and LUCKY COIN, which shifted outwards after being bumped on the hindquarters by MOLLY BROWNE. As a result of this, MOLLY BROWNE shifted inwards crowding ABOVE THE HORIZON (I Azhar).

ASTROJET was carried outwards making the turn into the straight when AMAZING laid outwards.

Passing the 400m, FELAROF mis-strode when coming to the outside of THE DODGER.

Jockey Brown reported that RUSTY BROWN was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality. RUSTY BROWN, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

App Chan reported that SKY ELEVEN was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned as a roarer. SKY ELEVEN will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

 RACE 9:  CLASS 4, DIV 1 - 1200M

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 8, this race was put back forty minutes and rescheduled to start at 2300Hrs.

ZIPPY GENERAL (K A’Isisuhairi) jumped away awkwardly and made contact with the hindquarters of METAPHOR (App K Toh).

SING ROULETTE (App WS Chan) jumped away awkwardly.

IN BOCCA AL LUPO (K Fujii) and LADY LIBERTY (App CC Wong) bumped on jumping. LADY LIBERTY then shifted outwards bumping the hindquarters of ROYAL RULER (B Vorster).

Near the 1100m, MANGATOETOENUI (M Rodd) eased when racing tight to the inside of IKING (App CK Ng), which had been carried inwards by PEER GYNT (M Nunes) and METAPHOR. App Toh was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Near the 600m, CERTAINLY (J Powell) had to be steadied on a couple of occasions when racing keenly on the heels of MEDIA CAPTAIN (App CS Chin).

Jockey A’Isisuhairi will be questioned regarding the run of ZIPPY GENERAL.

Jockey Vorster reported that ROYAL RULER was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on DRAGON HIGHNESS (D Beasley) which revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. DRAGON HIGHNESS will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

SINGAPORE NOVEMBER MEETING 2015
FRIDAY, 6 NOVEMBER 2015:

RACE 8 [TF1325]

The inquiry into the running and riding of PERFECT CHALLENGER in Race 8 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 6 November 2015 was concluded on Thursday, 4 February 2016. After taking evidence from App J See, his master, Trainer ZL Mok and Trainer HW Tan, the trainer of PERFECT CHALLENGER, App J See was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(8) for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing. The particulars of the charge are:

1. in that between the 550m and until approaching the 400m, he failed to make sufficient effort to improve his position when it was reasonable and permissible to do so;

2. in that from the 400m to the 350m, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination; and

3. in that from near the 250m until the 100m, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account the nature of the charge and his record. App J See was disqualified for a period of one year with immediate effect from Thursday, 4 February 2016 to Friday, 3 February 2017 both dates inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal.

On Friday, 5 February 2016, App J See exercised his right of appeal against the decision of the Panel of Stewards and the penalty imposed on him. He subsequently applied for a stay of sentence.

After hearing and considering submissions from App J See on Friday, 5 February 2016, his application for a stay of sentence was denied by the panel of stewards.

The appeal will be heard at a date to be fixed.

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Friday, 5 February 2016, Jockey CW Brown, the rider of STOCK BROKER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding STOCK BROKER in Race 4 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 29 January 2016, near the 1000m, he made insufficient effort to straighten his mount, thereby carrying HEE’S EGO in onto ALWAYS AHEAD (App J See), resulting in it shifting and crowding GALLANT HEIGHTS (App M Jailani) and AMI ELEVEN (R Woodworth), with AMI ELEVEN having to check. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Brown that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 12 February 2016 and Sunday, 14 February 2016.  The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 15 February 2016 until Sunday, 21 February 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days).  He was advised of his right of appeal.

RACE 7 [TF138]

After reviewing the start of the race and further consideration regarding the starting stall test imposed on TONGARIRO (R Woodworth), the starting stall test was rescinded. Trainer HK Tan was advised that a warning has been placed on TONGARIRO regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

RACE 5 [TF157]

On Monday, 1 February 2016, the Stewards concluded an inquiry into a report from the Clerk of Scales that App T See, the rider of HAPPY SAGA, returned to scale 1.0kg over the declared weight that he weighed out for the above race. App T See pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 121(7) in that after riding HAPPY SAGA in Race 1 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 31 January 2016, he returned to scale 1.0kg in excess of the declared weight that he weighed out for the race. There was no evidence to suggest that App T See had or attempted to deceive the Clerk of Scales when weighing. However, App T See had admitted consuming some fluid after he weighed out for the race and that this may have contributed to him returning overweight. When considering penalty, the Stewards took into account the nature of the charge, guilty plea, his record and submissions from App T See that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Friday, 5 February 2016. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Saturday, 6 February 2016 until Sunday, 14 February 2016 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days).  He was advised of his right of appeal.
