OCTOBER (KRANJI MILE) MEETING

 RACE 1:  PANASONIC I-PRO SMARTHD CAMERAS STAKES
                 MAIDEN, DIV 2 - 1600M

Due to transport difficulties, Jockey J Verenzuela, the rider of COSMIC WARRIOR, failed to arrive on course by the prescribed time. As such, permission was given for Jockey O Chavez to replace Jockey Verenzuela on COSMIC WARRIOR.

Prior to the running of this race, Trainer M Walker advised the Stewards that his instructions to Jockey O Placais, the rider of MR MOMENTUM, if circumstances permit, to ride the gelding in a forward position.

On jumping, COUNTER PUNCH (V Duric) shifted outwards and bumped IRISH FLASH (B Vorster).

Approaching the 1000m, NEVERMIND (App M Yap) was crowded for room by JACK (App TH Koh), which shifted inwards slightly. As a result, NEVERMIND brushed the running rail and lost ground. POLE POLE (App J Farook), which was following, had to be steadied off the heels of NEVERMIND.

SMARTY SMARTY (D Beasley) and COSMIC WARRIOR both raced wide without cover throughout.

Passing the 400m, Jockey J Moreira, the rider of CHENGDU WARRIOR, lost his near-side stirrup iron, which he regained shortly thereafter.

NEVERMIND laid outwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

 RACE 2:  PANASONIC PROFESSIONAL PLASMA DISPLAY STAKES
                 RESTRICTED MAIDEN, DIV 2 - 1200M

MR MAFEI (E Aslam), which was slightly slow to begin, was inconvenienced when DARCISTAR (App SH Low) jumped outwards at the start.

Shortly after the start, HORIZON LAD (V Duric) was bumped when EYE OF THE STORM (B Vorster) shifted outwards after being brushed by MODERN MAN (O Chavez).

DRAGON SPIRIT (O Placais) raced greenly in the early stages and proved difficult to settle.

HORIZON LAD and BEYONCE (J Saimee) both raced wide throughout.

SOLITAIRE (J Powell) raced greenly in the straight.

The Farrier reported that BIDABULL (D Beasley) returned having cast its off-hind plate.

Jockey Chavez, when questioned regarding the run of MODERN MAN, stated that after jumping well, he elected to try and get cover behind BEYONCE. Thereafter, MODERN MAN commenced to overrace, he also stated that as BEYONCE did not race in a more forward position as expected, he raced further back than anticipated on MODERN MAN. Jockey Chavez also stated that while MODERN MAN ran on fairly when placed under pressure, he was a little concerned with its galloping action and he felt that MODERN MAN was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

HORIZON LAD was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 3:  BENCHMARK 61 - 1800M

OLD FAITHFUL (Alan Ng), which jumped away awkwardly, showed no early pace despite the urging of its rider.

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN (B Vorster) was slow to begin.

OLD FAITHFUL raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 600m, OLD FAITHFUL was bumped when STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN shifted outwards to improve.

MAGIC HAUL (J Powell) was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

Jockey Alan Ng, the rider of OLD FAITHFUL, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. OLD FAITHFUL was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality. OLD FAITHFUL, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 4:  THE SPRINTERS STAKES, GROUP 1 - 1200M

 RACE 5:  PANASONIC BROADCAST STAKES
                 RESTRICTED MAIDEN, DIV 1 - 1200M

Due to a delay in Race 4, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1515Hrs.

App T Rehaizat , the rider of GOOD TIMING, was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to submit his request to ride his horse without claiming his full allowance within the prescribed time at Declarations.

App R Shafiq, the rider of NEWFOUNDJOY, was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to claim and ride at his declared riding weight.

Acting on veterinary advice that DRUNK MONSTER (R Woodworth) was found to be lame near-fore, the Race Meeting Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1505Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

GOOD TIMING was difficult to handle behind the barrier. Trainer HK Tan was advised that a warning has been placed on GOOD TIMING regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

CAMERO (J Saimee) began awkwardly and lost ground.

IWA ANTILIA (M Kellady) and LUCKY EIGHTY EIGHT (App CS Chin) bumped on jumping.

Approaching the 1000m, DOMINATOR (O Chavez) eased when crowded to the inside of IWA ANTILIA, which shifted inwards. Jockey Kellady was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Near the 1000m, CAMERO, which commenced to overrace, lost ground after being eased on a couple of occasions.

Shortly after passing the 1000m, LUCKY EIGHTY EIGHT shifted outwards and away from IWA ANTILIA and in so doing, carried GOOD TIMING wider on the track.

CHINESE CULTURE (B Vorster) was held up and unable to improve between the 800m and the 600m.

Shortly after passing the 200m, GOOD TIMING shifted inwards abruptly when struck with the whip.

Near the 150m, LUCKY EIGHTY EIGHT and DOMINATOR brushed on a number of occasions.

App Chin, the rider of LUCKY EIGHTY EIGHT, reported that the gelding had returned with its saddle having shifted back during the running.

NEWFOUNDJOY, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 6:  PANASONIC L.E.D. STAKES
                 BENCHMARK 65 (FILLIES & MARES) - 1200M

Due to a delay in Race 4, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1545Hrs.

ANIWA (App TH Koh) began awkwardly and lost considerable ground.

Shortly after the start, COUNTRY CLUB (App T Rehaizat) shifted outwards and made contact with ALWAYS HAPPY (B Vorster).

MOON’S FAIRY (App R Zawari) and SARONG (R Woodworth) both proved difficult to settle in the early stages.

SARONG raced wide without cover throughout.

Near the 800m, ANIWA got its head up when being eased off the heels of COUNTRY CLUB, which steadied in front.

MULAN (J Saimee) raced wide throughout.

COUNTRY CLUB was held up shortly after entering the homestraight.

Inside the 100m, ALWAYS HAPPY was eased when crowded between SARONG and EXCELLENT BEAUTY (I Saifudin), which rolled outwards.

 RACE 7:  PANASONIC IP TELEPHONY STAKES
                 CLASS 5 - 2400M

Due to a delay in Race 4, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1620Hrs.

DOMINANT FORCE (R Woodworth) jumped away awkwardly.

ZAC DETONATOR (App T Rehaizat) showed no early pace.

Near the 2100m, DOMINANT FORCE checked when racing to the inside of GOLDEN LEOPARD (TO Chang). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Between the 1200m and the 1000m, DOMINANT FORCE was buffeted when raced tight to the inside of GOLDEN LEOPARD, which shifted inwards.

GOLDEN LEOPARD raced wide throughout.

MIURA (O Placais) was held up and unable to improve between the 800m and the 600m.

MIURA also had difficulty obtaining a clear run between the 400m and the 200m.

ALL DRAMA (V Duric) laid inwards in the straight obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount on a number of occasions.

DEBONAIR (D Beasley), GOLDEN LEOPARD and SO GOOD (App CS Chin), which all raced poorly, will each be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

Jockey Woodworth, when questioned regarding the run of DOMINANT FORCE, stated that after beginning awkwardly and being caught wide in the early stages, he elected to come back in an attempt to get cover, thereby racing further back than anticipated. His explanation was noted. DOMINANT FORCE was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 8:  PANASONIC SYSTEMS PROFESSIONAL STAKES
                 BENCHMARK 89 - 1400M

DITTATORE (B Vorster) was slow to begin.

Near the 1000m, ARADEA (V Sivan) steadied away off the heels of BRUNEI ROYAL (R Woodworth) and in so doing, made contact with SILVERON WINGS (App R Shafiq).

Shortly after passing the 1000m, BRUNEI ROYAL steadied outwards after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of THE COMEDIAN (J Moreira). This resulted in DITTATORE having to be steadied outwards and making contact with ARADEA.

SILVERON WINGS was momentarily held up for a clear run approaching the 400m.

APACHE CROWN (M Kellady) had a tendency to lay inwards in the straight.

NEW TARGET (App YY Oon) laid outwards over the final 200m.

 RACE 9:  PANASONIC ELITE PANABOARD STAKES
                 MAIDEN, DIV 1 - 1600M

Due to a family matter, the Stewards gave permission for Jockey V Sivan to replace Jockey S John on SUPER STAR.

JURY’S OUT (J Verenzuela) took charge of its rider enroute to the barrier and completed two circuits of the course before being able to be eased down. It was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Race Meeting Stewards.

DANNY (App TH Koh) was difficult to be loaded. Trainer L Laxon was advised that a warning has been placed on DANNY regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

LUCKY MORE LUCKY (S Anandan) stood flat-footed, was slow to jump and lost considerable ground. In view of its previous record and as LUCKY MORE LUCKY is a repeat offender, it will be barred from racing or entering for a test trial for a period of one month, after which it must pass two consecutive starting stall tests.

LUCKY FUJI (M Zaki) jumped awkwardly inwards at the start carrying SUPER STAR in onto TERRA FIRMA (D Beasley).

BIONIC STAR (App M Yap), which jumped away awkwardly, had to be eased shortly after the start, when shifting inwards and becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of LAVA LAVA (App T Rehaizat).

Near the 1400m, PERFECT KID (J Moreira) steadied off the heels of SUPER STAR, which shifted inwards.

Passing the 1000m, SPANISH TRAIN (App R Shafiq), which was difficult to settle, shifted outwards abruptly away from the heels of LUCKY FUJI and as such, momentarily inconvenienced PERFECT KID.

BIONIC STAR raced wide throughout.

Shortly after passing the 400m, LUCKY FUJI laid inwards and made contact with the running rail for some distance.

DANNY raced greenly in the straight.

 RACE 10:  PANASONIC KRANJI MILE (SG1) - 1600M

TRAFALGAR LEGACY (O Placais) and RISKY BUSINESS (M Kellady) were both crowded between ALWAYS CERTAIN (J Powell) and JAMAL MALIK (B Vorster), which shifted outwards at the start.

Near the 1000m, CLINT (J Verenzuela) commenced to overrace and had to be continually eased off the heels of BETTER THAN EVER (J Saimee).

WAIKATO (J Moreira) raced wide throughout.

BETTER THAN EVER had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early part of the race.

ALWAYS CERTAIN had difficulty obtaining a clear run near the 100m.

SPEED BABY (I Azar) was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

Jockey Verenzuela, the rider of CLINT, was dislodged after running of this race and to avoid any unnecessary delay, he was exempted from the weigh-in. Jockey Verenzuela was subsequently examined by the Course Medical Officer who declared him unfit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.

After passing the Winning Post, Jockey Placais dismounted from TRAFALGAR LEGACY as the horse had returned lame. In order not to delay the correct weight, Jockey Placais was exempted from the weigh-in.

 RACE 11:  PANASONIC TOUGHBOOK STAKES
                   NOVICE - 1400M

Trainer ZL Mok was fined a sum of S$50 in terms of MRA Rule 65(5)(b) for failing to produce the correct colours on DADDY COOL (App A Feiruz).

DRUNKEN PARTNERS (R Woodworth) was severely crowded on jumping between SUPER VELOX (D Chee), which jumped inwards and DISTINCTION (V Duric). As a result of this incident, DISTINCTION had its hindquarters turned outwards, thereby inconveniencing LEAVE ME ALONE (O Placais).

Approaching the 1000m, DRUNKEN PARTNERS and DADDY COOL both lost ground when racing greenly.

Approaching the 200m, LEAVE ME ALONE had to be taken outwards across the heels of JAZZ IT UP (J Moreira) to obtain a clear run.

JAZZ IT UP was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 12:  PANASONIC LASER MULTI-FUNCTION PRINTER STAKES
                   CLASS 4 - 1400M

Prior to the running of this race, Trainer M Walker advised the Stewards that his instructions to Jockey D Beasley, the rider of BEAT TO QUARTERS, if circumstances permit, to ride the gelding in a forward position.

Shortly after the start, BIG FORTUNE (TO Chang) shifted outwards away from MOVIE GOER (App T Rehaizat) and in so doing, bumped BETTER FRIENDS (J Moreira).

Approaching the 1200m, BOUNDLESS GLORY (M Kellady) laid outwards and had to be eased off the heels of TOUCH THE LINE (KB Soo).

BETTER FRIENDS was difficult to settle in the backstraight.

Passing the 1000m, CAN BE BETTER (B Vorster) got its head up after racing up onto the heels of MOVIE GOER.

Near the 1000m, BETTER FRIENDS and BOUNDLESS GLORY bumped on a couple of occasions when racing to the inside of KINGTRAP (S Sam).

Passing the 300m, TOUCH THE LINE was severely crowded when racing between BOUNDLESS GLORY and BIG FORTUNE. CAN BE BETTER, which was following, was also inconvenienced in this incident.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BEAT TO QUARTERS which revealed no apparent abnormality.

BETTER FRIENDS was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

An Inquiry into the riding of BOMBAATA (App T Rehaizat) was concluded on Monday, 26 September 2011. It was established that BOMBAATA jumped away awkwardly and shifted outwards. Whilst being corrected inwards. BOMBATTA got its head up and lost further ground. Thereafter, BOMBAATA got cover back in the field and when asked to improve, was forced to race wide. In the circumstances, the Stewards were of the opinion that there was insufficient evidence to warrant a charge and as such, no further action was taken.
