 RACE 1:  CLASS 5 - 1200M (SAND)

LUMINOUS DRAGON (N Callow) and SILENT WISH (D Chee) bumped on jumping.

ZINKAWW (M Hairin) hung outwards from the 800m.

Jockey Callow, when questioned regarding the apparent poor performance of LUMINOUS DRAGON, stated that the gelding had travelled well, however when placed under pressure near the 300m, it failed to respond. LUMINOUS DRAGON was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 2:  RESTRICTED MAIDEN - 1400M

FOREVER HAPPY (Alan Ng) began awkwardly and then showed no early pace.

STAR FISH RIM (App M Koh) got its head up on jumping.

SOUTH STAR (S Anandan) shifted outwards after the start carrying QUEEN AND QUEEN (D Chee) wider.

Near the 800m, SWEET DREAMER (J Powell) mis-strode and lost ground.

Near the 700m, QUICK SAND (R Fradd), which was inclined to lay outwards, steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of ACE ALLTHEWAY (N Callow).

KING AND KINGDOM (App M Ewe), which hung outwards badly, throughout, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

SWEET DREAMER was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality. SWEET DREAMER, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

 RACE 3:  CLASS 4, DIV 2 - 1200M (SAND)

STORM CHASER (A Fiezan) and THE HATCHET MAN (App M Ewe) were both slow to begin.

TRUE BLUE (WK Yan) and THE HATCHET MAN bumped on jumping.

Shortly after the start, MSIXTEEN (Alan Ng) steadied when crowded between GOURMET PARADISE (M Gallagher) and WORLD TOP (App KK Ng).

Shortly after the start, STORM CHASER and HOMMONO (S John) both checked when crowded between RAPIDFLARE (M Kway) to its outside and THE HATCHET MAN and TRUE BLUE, which shifted outwards when unbalanced.

Approaching the 800m, THE HATCHET MAN commenced to overrace and shortly thereafter, had to be eased after racing up onto the heels of TRUE BLUE.

Near the 200m, MSIXTEEN, which was making ground, had to be eased off the heels of THE HATCHET MAN.

SNARING TIGER (D Chee), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BALKAN CHEVALIER (J Saimee) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

STORM CHASER was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse returned with a minor cut on its off-fore.

 RACE 4:  NOVICE - 1600M

IMPERIALARDO (M Gallagher) was slow to begin.

RISKY BUSINESS (M Kellady) overraced in the early and middle stages.

IMPERIALARDO raced wide from the 1000m.

Near the 600m, FANTASTIC TORCH (V Sivan) was buffeted when racing between IMPERIALARDO and RISKY BUSINESS when attempting to come to the outside of RUSSIAN SAFARI (D Beasley).

FANTASTIC TORCH, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that SUPERB HIGHNESS (R Woodworth) bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

 RACE 5:  BENCHMARK 83 - 1400M

Prior to the start, SUPERB CHALLENGE (App M Ewe) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race.

SUPERB CHALLENGE and NO LIMIT (G McKeon) were both slow to begin.

BRITISH NAVY (B Vorster) overraced in the early stages.

Approaching the 800m, MIGHTY SERVANT (R Stewart) got its head up when being steadied off the heels of ZINLY (O Chavez).

ZIZOU (R Fradd) was obliged to race wide from the 800m.

BIG MAVERICK (J Saimee) was held up and unable to improve between the 350m and the 200m.

App Ewe, the rider of SUPERB CHALLENGE, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 6:  CLASS 5 - 1800M (SAND)

SUMMER SURPRISE (KB Soo) was slow to begin and overraced in the early stages.

MASTER OF TRIUMPH (App KK Ng) laid outwards over the final 200m.

DELBURY (G McKeon), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

BULLISH RUN (App M Ewe) was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 7:  OPEN - 1600M

WORLD DELIGHT (J Powell) was slow to begin.

WORTH THE WAIT (S John) was crowded on jumping between TAURUS (R Woodworth) and CHEVRON (D Beasley), which jumped inwards.

WORTH THE WAIT raced keenly in the middle stages.

TRIGGER EXPRESSS (V Sivan) was obliged to race wide throughout.

ONCEUPONATIME (R Stewart) was held up and unable to improve between the 600m and the 400m.

TRIGGER EXPRESS was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 8:  CLASS 4, DIV 1 - 1200M (SAND)

SINMA VICTORY (R Woodworth) and TAXI RACER (G De Souza) were both slow to begin.

NINETYFIVE SWORD (J Saimee) was obliged to race wide throughout.

Jockey Woodworth, the rider of SINMA VICTORY, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

Jockey O Chavez, the rider of JUSTOHELP, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. JUSTOHELP will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

Jockey V Sivan, the rider of LUCKY MOON, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned with a cut on its off-fore. LUCKY MOON will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

 RACE 9:  PROGRESS - 1200M

GOLDEN TIGER (V Sivan) stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground. GOLDEN TIGER will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being entered to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

LIM’S OCEAN (R Woodworth) raced wide from the 800m.

At a subsequent Inquiry, Jockey M Gallagher, the rider of TEMUJIN, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(c) in that near the 1000m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards into the running of SINMA PERFECT (YF Leong), when insufficiently clear, resulting in that horse having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Gallagher was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 05 May 2008 to Sunday, 18 May 2008 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 1 [TF473]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 29 April 2008, App SH Low, the rider of EXPRESSARDO, in the presence of his Master, Trainer D Baertschiger, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(c) in that whilst riding in the first race at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 25 April 2008, shortly after passing the 200m, he permitted his mount to shift outwards whilst riding it along when insufficiently clear of WINNER CIRCLE (App J Farook), which checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record and the degree of interference and carelessness. App Low was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect from Tuesday, 29 April 2008 to Sunday, 04 May 2008 both dates inclusive (three Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

App Low subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal against the decision of the Stipendiary Stewards and the penalty imposed on him. On application, he was granted a Stay of Sentence. The Appeal will be heard at a date to be fixed.

RACE 3 [TF475]
At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 29 April 2008, App J Farook, the rider of ZINWONN, in the presence of his Master, Trainer S Chua, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(c) in that whilst riding in the third race at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 25 April 2008, near the 1200m, he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of VICTORY STAR (O Chavez), which checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record and the degree of interference and carelessness. App Farook was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect from Tuesday, 29 April 2008 to Friday, 09 May 2008 both dates inclusive (four Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 3 [TF475]
At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 29 April 2008, Jockey A Fiezan, the rider of TRICKY MASTER, was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) in that whilst riding TRICKY MASTER in the third race at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 25 April 2008, over the concluding stages, when in contention for the fourth place, he did fail to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record and the serious nature of the charge. Jockey Fiezan was suspended from riding in races for a period of one month with immediate effect from Tuesday, 29 April 2008 to Wednesday, 28 May 2008 both dates inclusive and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey Fiezan subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal against the decision of the Stipendiary Stewards and the penalty imposed on him. On application, he was granted a Stay of Sentence. The Appeal will be heard at a date to be fixed.

RACE 5 [TF477]
At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 29 April 2008, Jockey D Beasley, the rider of GALLERIA, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(c) in that whilst riding in the fifth race at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 25 April 2008, near the 400m, he did permit his mount to shift outwards, when insufficiently clear of TITAN DELIGHT (B Vorster), which was crowded onto SWIFT STRIKE (App KK Ng), resulting in TITAN DELIGHT having to check. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Beasley was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect from Tuesday, 29 April 2008 to Friday, 09 May 2008 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey Beasley subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal against the decision of the Stipendiary Stewards and the penalty imposed on him. On application, he was granted a Stay of Sentence. The Appeal will be heard at a date to be fixed.

RACE 6 [TF478]
At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 29 April 2008, Jockey Din Azis, the rider of HAPPY FEELINGS, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(c) in that whilst riding HAPPY FEELINGS in the sixth race at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 25 April 2008, near the 1500m, he did permit his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear of DRAGON SWORD (D Chee), which checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Azis was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect from Tuesday, 29 April 2008 to Sunday,
04 May 2008 both dates inclusive (three Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey Azis subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed on him. On application, he was denied a Stay of Sentence. The Appeal will be heard at a date to be fixed.

On Wednesday, 30 April 2008, the Race Meeting Stewards acceded to a request from Jockey Azis, the rider of HAPPY FEELINGS, to withdraw his Appeal against the penalty imposed on him. His deposit was forfeited.

The Race Meeting Stewards have determined that the suspension from riding in races for a period of three Race Days will therefore be with immediate effect from Wednesday, 30 April 2008 and will run until Sunday, 04 May 2008 both dates inclusive.

RACE 7 [TF479]
At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 29 April 2008, Jockey A Fiezan, the rider of LIM’S ZERPERB, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(c) in that whilst riding LIM’S ZERPERB in the seventh race at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 25 April 2008, near the 1000m, he did permit his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear of BAMBAAZON (R Stewart), which was carried inwards across the running of ONENINETYFIVE (J Saimee), which checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Fiezan was suspended from riding in races with effect from Thursday, 29 May 2008 to Friday, 06 June 2008 both dates inclusive (three Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal. This penalty will be served consecutively following the completion of his current suspension.

Jockey Fiezan subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal against the decision of the Stipendiary Stewards and the penalty imposed on him. On application, he was granted a Stay of Sentence. The Appeal will be heard at a date to be fixed.

RACE 7 [TF479]
On Tuesday, 29 April 2008, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for BAMBAAZON (R Stewart) having to check whilst racing to the inside of ONENINETYFIVE (J Saimee). It was established that near the 400m, BAMBAAZON hung outwards and bumped ONENINETYFIVE, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced, with ONENINETYFIVE shifting inwards and BAMBAAZON laying out across its heels and having to check. In the circumstances, the Stewards could attribute no blame to any rider. As such, no further action was taken.

RACE 7 [TF479]
On Tuesday, 29 April 2008, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for SCHMEICHEL (B Vorster) having to check whilst racing to the inside of LION CITY HERO (App M Ewe) and to the outside of KING AND INFINITE (R Woodworth) and ONENINETYFIVE (J Saimee). It was established that near the 300m, LION CITY HERO shifted in slightly and made contact with SCHMEICHEL, carrying that horse inwards. At the same time, KING AND INFINITE shifted outwards away from ONENINETYFIVE. In the circumstances, the Stewards could attribute no blame to any rider. As such, no further action was taken.
