He also stated that he placed TAKEAIM under pressure in the home straight and it had a tendency to lay in on several occasions in the home straight which resulted in him having to stop and straighten his mount. This was confirmed by the Stewards through the official patrol film. The Stewards took no further action and noted his comments for future reference.

App W Faizal explained that HAPPY FAMILY did have a tendency to lay in on several occasions despite his efforts in the home straight, however, he failed to show sufficient vigour and was concerned that he had just came off a 1-month suspension and did not want to reoffend.

Trainer L Moy informed the Stewards that he had informed App W Faizal to change his riding style and this may have contributed to his lack of vigour in which he showed on the gelding.

The Stewards, after viewing the official patrol film, and acting on their own observations, informed both parties that the Stewards will require App W Faizal to show a lot more vigour in his riding in future or action may be taken against his licence. The Stewards also took into consideration his limited experience.

The Stewards, after taking evidence from Jockey J De Souza, App AM Aizat and Jockey C Goon, established that racing to the 1000m, MISTER JAGGER was reluctant to hold its position when racing inside other runners, and as a consequence struck the running rail on several occasions and lost ground. As a result of this incident, STEALTH (M Wepner) had to be severely checked off the heels of MISTER JAGGER and JERAM STRIKE (App SU Lim), which was following, clipped the heels of STEALTH and blundered.

Trainer D Murphy will be advised to rectify the gear to ensure it races tractable in future starts.
