JANUARY MEETING
First Day,  Friday,  1 January 2016

 RACE 1:  CLASS 5 - 1100M STR

HENNESSY DRAGON, a course scratching as it had a bruised off-fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

As the start was effected, COSTNER (App M Rashpassing) jumped awkwardly inward and ROYAL TUDOR (SS Vanan) jumped awkwardly outward, resulting in DRAGON KNIGHT (App KC Tham) having to steady and lose ground. Thereafter, DRAGON KNIGHT showed no pace, despite being urged.

LUCK ALOT jumped awkwardly, resulting in Jockey J Shankar losing his near-side stirrup iron which he regained shortly thereafter.

A post-race veterinary examination of ROYAL TUDOR revealed that the gelding had bled and as such, it will be barred from racing for a period of three months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, until passing a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

 RACE 2:  CLASS 5 - 1100M STR

JACK (CK Tan) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.

OZZY (TM Wan) laid in from approximately the 500m mark.

A post-race veterinary examination of JACK revealed that the gelding had returned lame off-fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that TIME TO SHINE (M Yusri) returned having cast its off-fore plate.

 RACE 3:  CLASS 5 - 1400M

RACING MAN, a course scratching as it had bruised its near-fore sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

JETSTAR EAGLE, which was up 37kgs, and INI KALI, which was down 19kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.

ADMIRAL DELIGHT (J Shankar) jumped awkwardly inwards, making heavy contact with REMARKABLE (F Yap) which was cramped for room on the outside of INI KALI (App SU Lim).

ADMIRAL DELIGHT and LEAP OF FAITH (CK Tan) were slow to begin.

ZENIDIN (App J Daniel) anticipated the short course and shifted inwards, making contact with GOLD STAR PRINCESS (J De Souza). INI KALI, which was following, had to steady outwards off the heels of GOLD STAR PRINCESS.

JETSTAR EAGLE (App KC Tham), which lay inwards away from the whip from the top of the straight, made contact with REMARKABLE at approximately the 300m mark. Thereafter, jockey KC Tham, the rider of JETSTAR EAGLE changed the whip to his left hand in an attempt to straighten his mount.

A post-race veterinary examination of INI KALI revealed no obvious abnormality. GOLD STAR PRINCESS was impounded.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that REMARKABLE had returned lame off-fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

 RACE 4:  CLASS 5 - 1600M

GEORGIE BOY (Lou Ho) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.

KEY LARGOLD (App S Shafrizal) and SPACE INVADER (J Shankar), which both stood and lost considerable ground, will each be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.

KEY LARGOLD, which raced poorly, would be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of KEY LARGOLD and SPACE INVADER revealed no obvious abnormalities. SPACE INVADER was impounded.

 RACE 5:  CLASS 5 - 1600M

App KC Tham, the rider of BOYCE AVENUE lost his near-side stirrup iron on jumping, which he regained shortly thereafter.

EMPEROR QIAN LONG (App Z Khairil) was a little slow to begin.

JACKWIN (CK Tan) steadied outwards over the heels of HALO IMAGE (J De Souza) which rolled in slightly at approximately the 450m mark.

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of FIRE GENERAL, Jockey WK Yan, the rider of ZHAN SHEN and App KC Tham, the rider of BOYCE AVENUE, reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.

STUB (App M Khoody), which raced poorly, would be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of FIRE GENERAL, ZHAN SHEN and STUB revealed no obvious abnormaliies. ZHAN SHEN was impounded.

A post-race veterinary examination of BOYCE AVENUE revealed that the gelding had returned lame near-fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT OF ANALYSIS: 12 & 13 DECEMBER 2015
PERAK TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2015

Further analysis of sample coded "19811" (Lab No.V91421) dated 29 December 2015 (V15/164.1) revealed the presence of "Morphine." Upon decoding, it was established that sample coded 19811 was reported to have been taken from the mare "STREET TEASE" (J504), trained by Trainer P Pereira which finished first in Race 4 on Saturday, 12 December 2015, Perak Turf Club December Meeting 2015.

On 31 December 2015, Trainer P Pereira, the trainer of STREET TEASE was advised of the content of this report and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 134(12) which prohibits STREET TEASE from racing until it is cleared by the Stewards, MRA Rule 137, MRA Regulations 46.1.1 and 46.2 relating to the referee sample. An inquiry will be held at a date to be fixed.

TUESDAY, 29 DECEMBER 2015, SLTC OFFICIAL BARRIER TRIAL/TEST

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that VON SNITZEL returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of 2 months, and be entered for a bleeder’s test for a period of 3 months, and start in any race for a period of 3 months after such declaration, and then only after passing the bleeder’s test.

SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2015

The report dated 24 December 2015 (V15/166) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 28 coded urine and 32 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 19 December 2015, for analysis under MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

The report dated 24 December 2015 (V15/167) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 coded urine samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 19 December 2015, for analysis under MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

PENANG YANG DIPERTUA NEGERI GOLD CUP DECEMBER MEETING 2015

The report dated 30 December 2015 (V15/169) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 30 coded urine and 38 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 21 December 2015, for analysis under MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
