Nimble remains unbeaten in five starts

NIMBLE kept his clean slate when he accounted for six rivals in the Class 2 - 1100m handicap on the polytrack at Krani here today, making it five consecutive wins since arriving in Singapore with a modest record in Western Australia.

The son of Patronize won his debut as a juvenile but failed to win in nine runs after that, although he was on board five times.

But NIMBLE has improved by leaps and bounds since arriving here.

Perth jockey Joseph Azzopardi has never ridden by the gelding in Australia and was not supposed to ride him today. But with nominated jockey Troy See unavailable for personal reason, Azzopardi was given the ride and took it with both hands.

NIMBLE as usual settled off the pace but charged home to win by half a length.

"I had to pick my way coming off the corner and he found the line as I thought he would," said Azzopardi. NIMBLE was second winner in Singapore but it was a bitter-sweet victory as he was suspended for carless riding in the race.
