Zaimuddin lands first double

KUALA LUMPUR: Apr 2, 2016

Apprentice Zaimuddin Abdul Aziz drew attention to his potential when he recorded his first double for his master Johnny Lim at Sungei Besi here today.

The rookie sprang an upset in the opening event when he brought KING OF SEAL (RM67) from am long way back, with the New Zealand gelding recording his maiden win in 18 starts.

Zaimuddin had another surprise later when he prevailed in a three-way photo astride Q NINE MASTER (RM47). The Bachelor Duke gelding returned to form after 12 months to register his fourth win in 23 outings.

Zaimuddin has now ridden three winners in 15 rides.

Zaimuddin, however, had to share the limelight with fellow apprentice Zulfikri Salim who won back-to-back races with BUKIT SUBANG and KEEPITCONFIDETIAL.

It's back-to-back for BUKIT SUBANG and Zulfikri and the third win for the New Zealand gelding.

For KEEPITCONFIDENTIAL, it's his fifth win in 31 starts in Malaysia after faring badly in five runs at Kranji.
