Lemon Law calls the shot

PENANG: May 1, 2016

LEMON LAW bounced back from a dismal showing in the Tunku Gold Cup last time out to cause an upset in the Enrich Stakes A - 1200m sprint here today.

And the American gelding defeated two-time Tunku Gold Cup winner REBEL FURY (2013 & 2014) to win the weight-for-age event for his eighth win in 23 starts.

Ridden by Harmeet Singh Gill, LEMON LAW came from midfield to finish 1 3/4-lengths ahead of REBEL FURY.

LEMON LAW was purchased for just US$65,000 as a yearling and has now earned more than RM300,000.

After a switch from Singapore (where he did not race at all), and a change of trainer after only three starts in Malaysia, HEART'S CHOICE has finally come right.

The Australian gelding made it two consecutive wins when he triumphed in a Class 4 - 1100m sprint. It was his fifth start for trainer Bonny Ng who took over last December after HEART'S CHOICE had a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
