Tough Ruler too strong for rivals

Sungei Besi-based Daniel Murphy prevented a clean sweep of the 10 races by the home based trainers when he saddled TOUGH RULER to victory in the main event, the Cosmo B - 1100m sprint over the straight course here today.

The American gelding's runaway win in the set-weight event means that the Irishman has now won two races in three runs since taking over the seven-year-old from the now departed Thomas Gillespie.

And it's now four wins (in 2015) in nine starts in Malaysia for TOUGH RULER who also managed two wins in 10 starts at Kranji.

Mauritius lad Petit Mogun booted home his second winner when successful on BLUE HILLS in the Class 4 - 1600m handicap.

For Mogun, it was third time lucky on the Australian gelding having been unsuccessful twice on the six-year-old this season.
