Promontory Gold gets first local bred winner

PENANG: Mar 29, 2015

CLASSIC ARROW broke through for his first win in six starts in the Maiden - 1300m handicap here today and provided his sire PROMONTORY GOLD with his Malaysian bred winner since joining the National Stud Farm (NSF) in 2009.

The American bred stallion has have four runners to date and CLASSIC ARROW was sold for RM32,000 at the National Premier Sale in November 2012, the last auction conducted by the NSF.

Despite showing up for the first time when third in his last start, CLASSIC ARROW was not fancied in the betting. But the four-year-old proved too speedy for his opposition, leading from start to finish to beat the favourite APROBACION into second place. CLASSIC ARROW paid RM123 for a win.
