Da Silva quick off the mark in Singapore

Licensed to ride in Singapore from Sep 14 till the end of the year, Antonio Da Silva only made his bow with a solitary ride at Kranji last Friday evening.

After testing the ground with two more rides today, Da Silva was off the mark this afternoon when he droves STICK SEEKER home first in a three-way photo in the Initiation, Div 1 - 1200m sprint.

And appropriately, the Brazilian rider's first win in Singapore is for the trainer who brought him here: Michael Clements.

STICK SEEKER managed a third placing from three starts in Australia and found one to beat twice in four starts at Kranji before given a break. He was racing for the first since May 15.

"He is a difficult horse to train as he’s so light-framed. That’s why I decided to give him a break and keep him fresh,"said Clements.

In 11 years in the saddle, Da Silva chalked up more than 700 wins including seven Group 1.
