Aify fails in appeal, suspended eight months

Jockey Yudanyl Aify has not only failed in his appeal against a six-month suspension, but has his sentence increased to eight months at the hearing of his appeal here today.

After considering submissions from Aify who was assisted by Ms Keng Siew Hong, a Certified Court Interpreter, and the Chief Stipendiary Steward, the Racing Stewards dismissed the appeal and increased the suspension to eight months to commence with immediate effect from today to March 28, 2016, both dates inclusive. The Racing Stewards, however, rescinded the fine of RM30,000 and his deposit was forfeited.
