Southern Boss calls the shot again

SOUTHERN BOSS coasting to his eighth win on the polytrack

After finishing in the placings in his last two starts, polytrack specialist SOUTHERN BOSS was back in the driver's seat when he beat a small but elite field in the Benchmark 83 - 1000m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji here today.

Ridden by apprentice Joseph See, the Australian five-year-old led his four rivals on a merry chase, winning by three-quarter length for his eighth win in 23 starts, with all his successes coming on the polytrack.

SOUTHERN BOSS, bought for A$20,000 as a yearling, started his career in a sensational manner in late 2012 and early last year, winning four of his first five starts.

It was in the middle of this year that he regained his winning form, scoring a hat-trick.

For See, it was his third win on SOUTHERN BOSS this year.
