Affleck gives another winning performance

AFFLECK is odds-on to complete a clean sweep of the More Magic 3YO Championship Series after another commanding win in the S$100,000 Premier Racing Bloodstock Stakes over 1400m at Kranji here tonight.

Following up his victory in the first leg, the Premier Racing Partnerships Stakes (1200m) last Sep 19, AFFLECK again outclassed his rivals, leading throughout to win by two lengths in the second leg tonight.

It was his first test over 1400m. "He did effortlessly tonight. Danny (Beasley) did not even give him a slap behind the saddle, just rode him hands and heels," said trainer Laurie Laxon who is looking forward to the third leg over 1600m on Nov 7 with the gelding.

AFFLECK has now won five of his six starts, including the Group 3 Juvenile Championship. His only defeat came in the Group 2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe when second to stablemate KIWI KARMA but has gone on to beat the latter twice since.

"Better Than Ever was the best horse I’ve ever trained here. I’ve had many other champion horses like Why Be, but this bloke will get up there one day," said Laxon.
