Assistant trainer Wee Mung Hua has won his appeal against a 12-month disqualification.

The Kuala Lumpur based assistant to Moha Sukri was earlier disqualified one year for contravention of MRA Rule 133(1)(J) and one year for contravention of MRA Rule 152(2)&(3)(a) by the Stipendiary Stewards in connections with an incident involving an umbrella at the terrace outside the Owner's Box on 6 December 2008 at the Selangor Turf Club. Both sentences were to be served concurrently.

The Selangor Turf Club Racing Stewards heard Wee's appeal today.

After considering submissions from Wee’s Counsel, the Acting Chief Stipendiary Steward and the Counsel for the Stipendiary Stewards, and after considering all the evidence, the Racing Stewards allowed the appeal and the deposits were refunded.
