Apprentice Lai Kin Man has been disqualified for returning a positive swab during a race meeting in December last year.

Lai’s urine sample taken during the Selangor Turf Club December Meeting on Dec 20, on analysis, revealed the presence “Ketamine”, an anesthetic, and a prohibited substance under the MRA Rules and Regulations.

The Stewards conducted an inquiry into the above report today at the Selangor Turf Club, which was held in the absence of Lai who failed to attend.

Lai, in his absence, was charged under MRA Rule 204(3)(ii) and disqualified for a period of one year with immediate effect.
