Reduced field for place forecast bets 

SINGAPORE,  18 August 2005

The Singapore Turf Club (SNTC) will, from tomorrow, operate PLACE FORECAST (PFT) bets on races with a minimum field of eight horses at declaration time.

Currently, the SNTC accepts such bets on races with a minimum field of 10 horses at 45 minutes before the first race on raceday.

However, should the field in any such race be subsequently reduced to six horses or less, the PFT pool for that particular race will be abandoned.

Customers can now purchase their PFT bets at Singapore Pools branches or through Telebet earlier from 8.30am on racedays. The betting counters at the betting centres and Singapore Racecourse will continue to be open for betting half an hour before the first race.
