A 'first' for Belgium

SINGAPORE,  11 May 2003

Peter Braem became the first Belgium jockey to win a race in the local circuit at Kranji today.

The former New Zealand based jockey achieved the landmark victory with KILAT DHARMA in the Restricted Maiden - 1,200m sprint (Race 2).

A first-up fourth last month, the three-year-old chestnut Australian gelding by Made Of Gold out of Greinee Pet (by Gold Carat) prevailed by a short head. He was purchased for A$40,00 at the 2001 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale.
